PA Non Resident Permit

I currently have my Pike County non resident permit which will expire next month and Pike Co. no longer will renew non resident permits. I have been told that Lackawanna Co. will issue non resident permits while you wait but I can't seem to speak to anyone in the permit office. No one ever picks up and they never return a call like they say they will if you leave a message. Has anyone recently obtained their non resident permit from Lackawanna and was it while you wait?

The next closest county for me is Wayne, the very nice lady said I would have to re apply for a new non resident permit which could take up to 45 days even though I have a current Pike Co. permit. I'd rather not have my Pike Co. expire while waiting for my new Wayne Co non res.

+1 Scranton. Five months ago, two permits in less than 20 minutes. Four people ahead of us when we came in, four people behind us when we left. Friendly efficient crew. Do not bother preparing paperwork available on line ahead of time, the Sheriff prefers the similar but previous revision. Bring contact info on your references.

Thanks guys, I went to Lackawanna site and there is a message that says their version of NY's NICS check is down until 6/12. I guess I'll wait until they are back online.

Get to Lackawanna Courthouse before 3pm even though they close later. I was turned away my first drive out there from Putnam NY.. I got there at 3:20 thinking I had an hour and half for a 20 minute thing, they said before 3pm next time..so I drive back 2 hours the next day and got there at 2:30. 20 minutes/20$ and left with permit in hand no mailing it to me.

It was either none, or like 2 and they don't really care who. They obviously don't check as you walk out with the permit in hand. Just need a driver's license and a NY permit with no BS administrative restrictions. I was in and out in 30.

I had some stammering C U Next Tuesday in front of me, and actually let my damn parking meter expire. I put 30 mins in the meter. Well, this took me 30. Add in the time to get there and back and...

I JUST beat the parking enforcement back to my car.

Their criminal check system is down until 6/12. They are updating the software. Nothing being done with permits until after the 12th.

Its proly different for non residents but they didn't even look at my references for my permit.
