They are out there but its certainly uncommon. I can use nicotine regularly and just stop with no ill effects, cravings or anything else. I have known people that smoked and quit the same way. Most struggle but not all.

There they found drugs and drug paraphernalia, as well as a firearm barrel lock. They did not find a lockbox, a trigger lock, or a key to a trigger lock."
