Dredge the bottom of Lake Ontario and you'll find plenty of completed rifles... just need a little cleaning.

Not sure if it's the cheapest (or the best), but I've usually used Anderson. My understanding is that you should put money into trigger and barrel. The rest of the parts kit is pretty standard no matter what you get.

All of those mentioned above are good and I've done business with most. Midway USA pissed me off by making me return and reorder an item that had dropped significantly in price - a credit would've been much easier for both parties.
Anyway, Primary Arms has become one of my go-tos and they are running 12% of everything with free shipping on $200+ orders until Thursday.
I agree with @Catskillkid. Trigger and barrel are the last places you want to try to save money by going with the lowest cost option.

Thank you all for the information. It can be a bit overwhelming when dipping that first toe into the water. My hope is for pretty much, one stop shopping. The shipping alone from a multitude of places would add up to a complete upper!!!!! I will make a list and check it twice. Thanks again.

If i had 2 stripped lowers, Id have both uppers and LPKs from them.
it is overwhelming, but for a basic AR, its hard to beat PSA. Its not made of gold but it shoots straight...ish

Bolt also always bolt. But with a lower some companies have shotth QC and you may not get ine in spec. (Anderson being one of those) and for a few bucks more you can get an aero. Or a few bucks more than that get SOLGW

Agreed. I might also add that it could be worth it to drop a few bucks on a quality handguard if you're picky about those sorts of things like I am.
