It put up an impressive fight. It would have been a LOT of fun catching it in deeper water. I caught a smaller one last year and thought I was a huge bass.
Yeah, I really don’t know a lot about them either so I was googling earlier too. I read it can be good if prepared properly but it’s not a flakey meat, it’s a more hardy meat.
Done properly Catfish has an almost foamy texture
Burried properly, catfish makes wonderful fertilizer for flowers.

There’s a sunken 55 gallon drum in one of the slips. Often when I walk by I yell “look at the size of that drum!”
I did a quick search and found that exact one at bass pro shops/cabelas and I thought wow that looks real and I need some. I could see those working well at the thousand islands dragging it in at dusk.
I’m hoping to try them more this year. Dock fishing is almost done for the year as the weeds and low water are starting to meet. Hopefully I can get the boat in the water soon.
They're a solid fish, and definitely fun to catch!
