The new idea to disarm all civilians is geneous. Ban certain guns...say...all semi automatics BUT current owners are grandfathered in to keep them....BUT they cannot be transferred ever. Upon the demise of the current owner,they must be disposed of. This is what can be coming down the pike.

Absolutely. It allows rampant gun control without ever going door to door. Long game but very effective.
Ever increasing difficulty/taxes/checks on ammo and permits for local gun ranges etc all can be used to make involvement in the hobby harder every year, which encourages some to leave and others not to start.
My brother (not in the US), got a shotgun before I ever got a gun. I remember him telling me about the rifles he would soon get. Provincial laws threw plenty of water on that. Lack of places to shoot, he’s still just got that one shotgun and it sits in his safe. He does all his shooting on the PS4. There’s at least one province in which it is illegal to target shoot on your own land no matter how much of it you own. You can hunt it only and must target shoot/sight in at a licensed range.

Yep and the first person or two he asked for a ref (needed for permit for any firearm) five years ago when he got it hated the idea of it and couldn’t understand why he would want one.

Yep. They'll do it slowly because it's working. This generation or the next will ban the semi auto. The next generation afterwards will require the bolt, pump, lever to be licensed after they are used to just having only those firearms.
I think they still allow handguns for some time but eventually those would be limited as well after they are done with the long guns.

Except cousin Eddie can't legally shoot them at the range so he'll just have them being useless too. After he dies, his son may not give a crap or his son's son may not. They'll eventually stay buried or dug up and thrown in a dumpster to get rid of the headache.
Kind of like those full auto Thompson submachine guns you never see anywhere anymore. Those are buried and forgotten or destroyed.

Possible too but I just don't see people willing to kill a law enforcement security detail and responding law enforcement just to get to a politician. I think it's far fetched. When people stand up and realize what they actually have to do and plan it out, they'll sit back down again.
I only see people standing up if they are forcibly disarmed house to house and resisters put in camps. The government is too smart to go that route do they'll do it by increments so that each increment is just a little but not too much to prevent uprising where people are willing to kill those that I've mentioned before and lose everything.
I don't think the government is stupid enough to go full retard unless some major catastrophe happens.

I think going by increments is an ingenious idea. Nobody here was willing to go full retard when they banned pistol grips and I don't think nobody here except for Podmonkey of course will go full retard if they ban semi-autos with grandfather exemptions.

In PA the constitution is actually upheld and has been done many times before. Even down to the local ordinance level towns have been shut down time and time again for trying to do whatever they want. They have even been sued successfully on occasion. This is just typical stuff that Philly and Pittsburgh politicians try to pander to their constituents. Philly and Pittsburg doesn't rule the whole state like NYC does. To give you an idea of the vast difference between NY and PA (and other free states) here is some interesting reading starting at Ortiz v Commonwealth. Take special note of the preemtion section which is actually upheld.

I agree with this. If something is going to change it has to happen sooner than later. If not it won't matter. If someone does rise up (even if they are perceived as justified) they will be villified and the narrative Will be twisted and it will be used as an excuse to further increase domestic spying, secret arrrests and courts, detention facilities, new anti gun legislations etc
We're stuck in purgatory. For most of us We don't have a realistic course of action to take.
Proverbially We are dying the death of a thousand paper cuts. We keep waiting for a perceived killshot (for example mandatory gun surrender or firced confiscation on a national or state level) that is enough of a threat to make us rise up but it will never come. It will be a slow methodical march of incremental steps to make our lives more miserable and difficult. They are winning the indoctrination and propoganda battle for future generations too. They are controlling the narrative in pop culture, school, msm, laws etc...
We can try to change the attitudes of our children and generation Z. We can become teachers and change schools teaching from within, we can run for political offices, we can volunteer time for good candidates, we can hope a solid conservative SCOTUS makes a difference. The only thing I can see is to try and fight them from within. We need to resist their bullshit.
God help us if the dems win the Senate and potus in 2020. Anyone posting in this thread will end up in a fema camp or dead before the decade is over.

I think people are realizing the disease is spreading. No longer can people just hope to leave the people's republic of NY and all will be well.
IMO, Since there seems to be 2 options right now either continued slow incremental steps or a major push all at once on a national level and across traditionally gun friendly states, I'll choose the latter. It is our only chance to shock enough people out of their slumber and to wake up and do something.
Slow incremental restrictions are our greatest threat. I would prefer shock legislation.

The tyrants responsible for the NFA back in 1934 were no fools, they knew it would take decades to fully disarm the populace so they started slowly by only regulating a "few" classes of "dangerous" firearms. Ironically there was an NFA amnesty in 1968 that lasted for only 30 days (it's not like there was a PSA). If said war trophy is ever found its not like someone can just apply for the $200 tax stamp, most people would rather destroy it/throw in the dumpster than risk 10 years in a federal prison.
