If no permit is needed, we can't get one. That permit grants a lot of states...

Last time I got mine in Scranton. Put too much money in the parking meter that's how quick it went.
It would allow anyone from NY to easily carry in PA. I would assume that permits would still be granted for recpricocity reasons like in other constitutional carry states. Ultimately there is a tipping point by which national permitless carry becomes a reality. After a majority of states legalize a previously illegal thing federal policy follows suit. It is happening with recreational marijuana use, it happened with gay marriage.

It's the same in Texas. A non-resident can still get a permit for reciprocity purposes. How many of us actually are planning to move to UT, anyways

Arizona is constitutional carry.
I haven't left the house without at least an LCP since we got here.
But we sent in out applications for our permits (which they also offer).
The permits allow reciprocity, even though they aren't required in AZ itself.
They also allow the ability to carry legally in a few places prohibited to the general public. Places that serve alcohol are the one you will most likely run into.
PA should do that. Permit offered, but not required.
My NR PA license is expiring. They want me to go to Scranton and put all my paperwork in a sealed envelope in a box in the vestibule. They will then call me for an appt. I emailed them to ask if I could mail it in but no response. I guess I'll be making two trips to Scranton. Crazy.

Wyoming county does PA nonresident, cost me $20 and 10 minutes in person once I mailed my application in 1 week prior. This was in September.

Got mine in Gettysburg, PA (Adams County). You can file on-line with them but will have to pick up your permit in person. Check this website as to which county does them for out of state residents.

Going to Pike County PA for my Non-Resident Pistol License. Last time I went down to Scranton because Pike wasn't doing non-resident in 2018.

Sheriff's office is in the Courthouse.
In 2017 nearly all PA counties issued court orders banning cell phones to prevent visitors from photographing or recording court business and potentially putting courtroom participants at risk.
When I went to the Erie, PA Sheriff's Office (which is located in the County Courthouse) this year to get my PA CCW, they would not allow me to bring my cellphone into the Courthouse until they put into a special locked bag so I could not access it. Took me by surprise! Still in and out in less than 30 minutes with my PA permit though.

Erie County PA has family court and child protective services in that same building. I've seen some interesting characters in the security lines there. Some sad and vulenerable people too. Sheriff's staffing at security always friendly, helpful and professional. People in permit office same experience. Not EC New York. Traffic and parking were easy too.
