I e seen it many times WS that the top 1% pays 40% of the federal tax intake. That’s a good portion of the taxes by 1%. I brought it up to a whole bunch of morons on Twitter but I get zero response because it doesn’t fit their narrative. I’m sick of the left lying constantly

The left's entire argument hinges on the masses not understanding the difference between wealth, money, and income.

Sure the rich have almost all the wealth. That's why they're called wealthy.

But the middle class has all the income.

I personally think more people know the truth than they let on. I think many are ignorant but many others just want to push their agenda.
I responded to many on Twitter with wrong information with valid article links on how much the top 1% pay in taxes and no response. They don’t want to respond to validate my response so their followers see the truth. I firmly believe that.
I argued with one asshole about Trump and he would respond no you’re wrong I’m right. I would provide a MSM article from a liberal source supporting my claim and he still would say no you’re wrong. I said then give me something to support your claim, I got nothing. He knew the truth it was right in front of his face yet could never admit it.

I think a lot of the ignorance surrounds "tax rate" as opposed to actual "tax dollars". The story is that Warren Buffet pays less in taxes than his secretary. The real data is that with all his write offs etc he pays a lower RATE than his secretary, but overall paid many millions of actual dollars more than her.

Personally, over half of the money my family takes in ends up going back to the government in one form or another - income taxes, social security, FICA, property taxes, sales taxes, fuel taxes, and the myriad of fees, licenses, and permits all add up to about 55% of my family's gross income. If you're middle class in NY, the same most likely applies to you.

...and that doesn't even count the indirect taxation. The increased prices we pay for everything we buy that can be traced back to government taxation of the business and/or its suppliers.

I don't know what the upper limit of "total taxation" should be, but I think anything even approaching 50% is insane. Meaning, we are already beyond insane.
