If you want to buy a long gun from a dealer out of state, the dealer must abide by the laws in the state you are from. It is same for New Jersey residents who want to buy a long gun from me, they must have a firearms purchaser identification card. If you have a pistol permit, just get it amended and pay the stupid fee. The gun laws are not going to change anytime soon or at all. NY does not care what the courts say, they do what they want to do.
