I'd imagine it has something to do with him frequently driving through bumfuck nowhere where they're harder to find.
Because they are expensive and are not available in every little place. I'm sure its an excellent light though, but I'd rather a 18500 or such option for it.

I got the recommendation from a thread here. So far with extensive use (3 year old and new born) it has been excellent. The one thing that has fallen short is using the "C" spacers. I cant get them to work in his night light and that thing eats batteries.

I work in dark dingy places and need to inspect and see detail. I've carried a bunch of different lights and my favorite has always been a mini mag led. Its not tactical but Its bright enough for my needs, runs on aa batteries I can get anywhere and its 30 dollars if I lose it or drop it in nasty shi t I dont care. I keep it on my belt with a small piece of pvc pipe that I attached a belt clip to. If I need the big guns i use a dewalt 14.4 flashlight .

FYI, For any light that uses 2 CR123 batteries in-line, i use 16650 rechargeable batteries, (my surefire 6P, 6PX, and M600 scout run fine on them).
The voltages are the same?

I prefer the Surefire brand. I have 3 of them and they all work great.

it's like an 18650, yea you aren't getting 6 volts like you would from 2 CR123 batteries, but even surefire cr123 batteries don't last very long. the light doesn't need the full 6 volts to run. 16650 batteries put out 4.2 volts at full charge and they last way longer than normal CR123 batteries or rechargeable CR123s. the 6P i have has a custom led head that is built specifically for the 16650 batteries, but the stock p60 lamp works just fine with then as well. the m600 scout runs perfectly fine as well. the 6Px is stock and runs just fine with the 16650, but i already bored the body out for 18650s when i learned about 16650 batteries so i use 18650s in it.

For the past two years I've had a coast hp7 or hp8. I can't remember which. Works great, about 200 lumens, single aa, cost me $8.
