Pocket carry? Pocket pistol?

Unless you go Seecamp or Beretta Bobcat its gonna be tough to find a pistol smaller than the LCP for pocket carry. LCP disappears in just about any pocket or IWB.
Sorry for quality of pics but wanted to do a quick visual comparison bt. G42, LCP gen 1 and S&W J-frame (Model 36 in .38). G42 is small but LCP smaller and thinner. Width of cylinder on revolver and grip length/angle gives it a larger footprint than LCP.

What does the Diamondback do that competitors don't. A Glock 43 for example.
As for Pocket carry, due my having large legs I struggle to get even my keys out of my pockets, no way I could draw a pistol with any speed or control out of my pockets.

The Glock 43 is the same size as the Glock 26 but single stack. It's not really small at all. The Diamondback is the size of Ruger LCP .380 but in 9mm. The Diamondback is on the bottom.
I don't think I'd want something that small in 9mm. If I want a micro gun I'll go all the way and get a Seecamp .32.

Why limit yourself?
If we are limiting ourselves by size there comes a point at which we must scale the caliber down to compensate. I have fired a Seecamp .380 and it is a brutal gun to shoot in that caliber. The recoil caused the trigger guard to bite into my fingers enough to draw blood after a couple magazines. I imagine that in .32 it's more manageable.

I hear you but it wouldn't be a target gun. It would be an "Oh Shit!" gun. I wouldn't even feel it or care if I had to use it. I also wouldn't want to sacrifice ballistics and intermediate frying pan barriers.
I've no interest in guns I can't also enjoy on the range. While my Shield is harder to shoot than my PPQ I do enjoy shooting it. That .380 Seecamp? I'd enjoy getting kicked in the balls more than shooting that thing! I wonder how a Diamondback handles? Provided it works long enough to find out.

It doesn't work unless you do heavy modifications to it from what I've read so I've steered clear. (Grinding things down with a Dremel, using cut down springs designed for other guns, ECT) As far as handling, it didn't seem too bad from the videos and reviews I've read or seen. I've seen ladies shoot it.
If the damned thing worked, it would be a magazine or two at the range and it's only use would be for the times when a subcompact cannot be carried easily.

@Calculon BUT the trigger on the lcp SUCKS BALLS. It may be small but you would need to be inside the barn to hit the broad side.

The trigger pull on the LCP is REALLY long and because it's so light it's pretty snappy - definitely takes some practice getting accustomed to it (most men can handle it
). I prefer a carry pistol that doesn't have an external safety so I'm OK with the long trigger pull. I train with the LCP and can hit my targets pretty reliably. Bring the Colt to the next 3 Gun so I can check it out.
I've got an NAA Guardian .32, basically identical to the Seecamp. Even with a 10 round extended mag (which gets you a 3 finger grip as a bonus), it is as small as a pack of smokes. Concealable absolutely anywhere.
I am looking to pick up one in .380, but haven't seen one at a great price yet.
So, for now, I pretty much pocket carry a Shield, either 9mm or .45 in a DeSantis pocket holster. I'm a big enough guy that I have no issues doing that.
Occasionally, I'll rotate others including revolvers and other semi autos using an OWB holster strong side at 4 o'clock with an untucked shirt, or a jacket in cold weather.
I had one of the original NAA .32 Guardians when I worked for a No Guns employer who knew I was a gun guy. Used to tell me that he would fire me if he ever caught me armed. A few years later( after I quit on him after a few months ) he and his wife came into the store that I ran and taught at and wanted me to give the FL CWP course to them. I ran him out of there after I told him that I never missed a day of carrying while I worked for him. I miss that little gun.

The NAA Guardians look nice...may have to consider one. .380 probably sucks to shoot, but the extra power might be worth it over the .32.

I looked at a variety of pocket pistols and there’s some really good ones out there. After much research, I bought a Sig P938 Equinox which is very easy to pocket carry and is 9mm. Price is high but so is the quality of the fit and finish. I could have bought 2 other pistols for $680 but when you put the 938 next to one of those others, it really shows. Shoots great too.

Those sigs are copies of the mustang pistols. The differences are the mustangs are much more rounded, sleeker with smaller sights etc. etc.

How come no one talks about the bodyguard? When I was a newbie I got talked into one from the local ffl as a pocket gun. Granted its a terrible trigger pull and not fun to shoot, but you can hide it anywhere. Since its what I carry at home, I don't really care how it feels to shoot as long as I can hit my target. At the range I put 20 or so through it each time but that's it. For fun shooting I use others.

I agree, that little pistol was abusive to shoot. My friend had one. I suggested he throw it in the river.

I like the sigs for sure I'm just not big on safeties on guns anymore. That gun cocked and locked without the safety is a no go in my book. I really liked the sig 238 it was a great gun. I did like the ruger LCP II and I'll end up with one some day just not now. The colt mustangs seem great too, but same thing has the safety.

The recoil doesn't bother me at all, however I tend not to be very recoil sensitive, so YMMV. My wife doesnt mind the recoil from it either, and she does tend to be though. I can put a couple hundred rounds through it in a day at the range.
It is plenty accurate for what it is, I can manage head shots on a silouette at 15 yards fairly reliably. That is accurate enough for me to carry it.
The previous owner painted the sights white, I "unpainted" the rear, but left the front. At some point I will redo the job more cleanly, the factory sights need a bit more visibility.

Post #20 I talked about the Bodyguard. By the way, not a terrible trigger pull, but one that is almost identical to my J frame Smiths (442 & 340PD). A long double action only trigger that requires PRACTICE! Sorry but, as an instructor, I must say that if you are carrying it for protection, you need to be shooting more than 20 rounds at a time. This is a more challenging firearm to shoot, especially under duress. So much more of a reason to shoot more rounds.
I have found that the larger the hand, the worse the trigger finger gets banged up. No offense to the "larger "guys but the thicker fingers stand more of the chance to get whacked by the trigger guard. But don't throw it in the drink - throw it my way.

I'm programmed to draw from the same place, regardless of my weapon. Makes it easy, consistent, quick and sure.

Darth. Try drawing while pocket carrying wearing pants that fit while sitting down. Not everyone wears mom jeans with loose pockets.

That's subjective, self defense is close quarters and if I hit good kill shots 20/20 then I am good. Also depends how often you shoot those 20 rounds. Some parts of the year its every month or bit longer but other times its weekly. My point was who cares if its not fun to shoot, its a defense gun only. When I am spending hours at the range I shoot something else.
Not everyone wears hipster skinny jeans.
