Well I just watched it.. I will say this..the cops shoot AT a fat black man. Looks to me they missed 42 times, until he was hit in the dick he went down. And not for nothing but you see all the pedestrian traffic in the far background..easily someone could have been skimmed by the recklessness of the cops. HIT YOUR MARK! THATS WHAT YOUR "TRAINED" TO DO!!!! or go practice more on your own at the range..

Was a shot to the right leg in the report or something? If you listen to the shot that takes him down you can hear that it's a larger caliber round or rifle. Maybe a shotgun but most likely a 45.
I alternate hollow points and ball ammo. Haven't had to use it so I can't report the effectiveness of that tactic.

It has always amazed me how many times someone will unconsciously use their gun as a shield. I remember being warned about that several times over the years during our agency's firearms training. Yet, it gets done over and over again - you hold the firearm out like it is a magic shield that will protect you instead of immediately seeking cover. Anyone might do it, at least the officer in this video back pedaled quickly but I have to point out, there was absolutely no reason for him to immediately approach that vehicle as he did. Take cover, weapon drawn, give commands all while assessing and you will probably live longer. I would not be surprised to find he took a couple to his body armor and he was a lucky man if he did not get shot.

Interesting. I picked up a .38 recently. Will have to audition the rounds you specify and see how they feel.

Yes. In real bodies, the difference between a wound track with a round that is .355 inches in diameter to a round that expanded to .586 in diameter is negligible. You are talking milimeters. Energy dump is a myth as evidenced above. 25 rounds of .40 S&W did nothing to this guy and others you see on YouTube shot in regards to energy dump. Pistol round are just too damned slow to have meaningful energy dump.
If you look at actual bodies shot, the wound channels are nowhere near what they appear to do in gel. You can rip gel with your fingers. You can't do that on living tissue. Pistol rounds only make wound channels the size of the round itself.
The expanded round usually only penetrates half way while the round that doesn't expand actually destroys more tissue because it penetrates all the way through both sides providing a longer wound track if one thinks destroyed tissue is what stops someone.
I don't. Hits in vital organs are what stops someone. Bleeding out with a slightly larger wound channel that only penetrates inches doesn't stop someone immediately as evidenced above.
