So there was a call and then they showed up HOURS later......most likely after they went to sleep.

There's absofuckinglutely NO REASON why they should've opened fire on him. Motherfuckers need to go straight to jail, do not pass go, do not collect a pension. There is nothing in the "official" story that makes sense when you see the video of what really happened.

Why would you wait hours for a shots fired call? Why would you get a search warrant? Nothing makes sense

Oh My God. Some POPO with a gun was hopped up on adrenaline and afraid for their life. And the shots sounded like perhaps another POPO might have joined in the shooting party.

There was no confrontation, just two people following police instructions. In this case, "confrontation" is a CYA code word for We Screwed Up Big Time.

No compassion and no urgency to help the unarmed disabled man they just shot in the chest. What a sorry excuse for men these people are. This is total BS behavior and people should be fired and go to prison for these actions. The judge should make the agencies involved watch this video as a training exercise and reminder at least annually forever.

I will start with the guy first. The Police were called due to shots being fired. Okay, good so far. There was a chance that a hostage may be in the building. Not sure where that info comes from... Anyway the guy, he approaches the door raising his voice, opens the door in the dark with an object in his hand that could very well resemble a hand gun. Looks almost like a flashlight. either way, as he walks out the door, he appears to point that object towards the officers. My guess, he had little to no idea who was out in front and was using the light to check on things or to light the steps leaving the building.

They shoot the guy, good shoot or not, not for me to judge at this time. They know they shot him and still demanding that he comes out with hands raised above his head. Kind of stupid in my opinion. While two officers walk over him, another officer approaches and only asks where he was shot. No rush to give him aid. Bit of a black eye there as well for the Police.

I spoke of cameras at great length in another thread. Cameras are everywhere and the Police should understand this by now. They step back in the home, unknown to them that they are on camera. More mistakes made in their comments.

Qualified Immunity. I hear this term often and I am not sure if people understand what this means. I hear many saying, I hope the cop loses his immunity. Most cases, this never occurs. In this situation, the cops are more likely than not, NOT going to have their Qualified Immunity revoked. All things in this incident will be investigated. This will be seen as a good shoot by the Police. I know many will not like to read this. It makes me sick that they shot this man, but, more than likely, it will show that they followed department policy and procedure.

The man came out of his house, not with his hands up, pointing what appears to be a weapon at the Police. They shot him.

Again, I do not like what I see on this video. I do not foresee them being charged, and if so, there will be no conviction. This picture is what they will use as their justification of the Use of Force.

It’s too bad their little RC toy didn’t have, I don’t know… a camera on it, or something, so they could have known that he picked it up and carried it to the door. It’s also too bad that cops have a terrible reputation. I feel bad for them after I see stuff like this. Cops are so misunderstood. I mean, a whole team of boys all geared up/kitted out ready for battle due to a 5+ hour old “shots fired” call vs a fat, old, disabled dude in an rv doorway who was obviously about to take down the whole squad. Nope, I don’t like it. And I shouldn't have to.

I understand that getting a warrant takes time. Potential hostage situations require a search warrant? Not enough probable cause with hostages? A lot of pure, blue bullshit in this story from start to finish.

Most of the time I agree with you but not this time Hoss. You can CLEARLY see he hands his hands up when he came to the door and when they fired on him. Maybe they saw the robot in his hands.

Again I am not defending the actions of these police officers. Not at all I was mostly referring to the qualified immunity not being taken away from this shooting. The police will be able to articulate that what was in his hand they thought was a gun.

Whether it was one or two people that shot, I believe it is time for them to find a difference form of employment. Those shots were out of fear, it was the SWAT team that shot him, they are supposed to be highly trained for situations like this.

Because the guy operating the robot couldn't tell everyone else that it was picked up?

Was this a no knock warrant? They entered the residence without identifying themselves.

Shots being fired has been mentioned as the reason for the cops being there. I have to ask, where in North Carolina is there an area where shots are not being fired? In the little town I live in in NYS, there are shots fired at any time of the day and night. I was walking my dogs when I got off work, about 2am, and heard 5 shots fired not too far back in the woods. Around here it is so common no one calls to report it.
