.308 Win
Anyway, I did make a decision. Ordered a matched set of AR-10 receivers from Live Free Armory. I’m going to build the lightest 16” AR-10 possible without using a polymer lower.
In something interesting like, say, .243?

My barrel is .311. I’ve loaded .308 heads before and not noticed much of a difference though. I just read so much about x39 being an “anemic” round for deer.

I have a timney drop in trigger for AR-10 ,for sale , breaks like glass, $100
Can’t wait to see the targets.I had to drill a small hole for the takedown pin detent spring since it goes into the grip like the safety selector spring on AR-10’s. I forgot about that when I ordered the regular MOE grip.
This rifle looks absolutely sick. It will be finished some time tomorrow. I’d love to post a pic but I don’t trust this open forum for that anymore.
I can’t wait to get it to the range. I’m going to rough sight it in with some military ammo I go from my range then hopefully get it all settled with my reloads.

Google M80 load data. They are typically loaded with a 147 grain bullet. What’s the specifics of the military load? I have 98 of them to shoot.
Are you using Pmags? I have issues with my Pmags that came with my RPR 6 creedmoor. I also had issues using Pmags with my 204,,,till I switched to Cproducts. The only gun Ive never had issues with Pmags is the 223.She’s a winner!!!
Might need to try different mags though and possibly a heavier buffer spring?
I have to use the forward assist every time I load a new mag and can only load four. First round has to be on right side of mag for it to strip it.

Have you done any research on which mags work best in AR10's? My research tells me all sorts of shit. They say Pmags, D&H mags and ASC. Obviously you think you have a problem with Pmags but I saw someone complain about Cproducts too. I honestly would try the D&H mags. ASC is what I think I will be ordering for my RPR but they are freaking expensive. 70 bucks for a 10rnd.Yeah Pmags. I’m going to order a Cproducts soon. I really only need 1 magazine for this rifle.
