Possibly a new Glock 19 killer??

Well it looks like someone may have just designed a Glock 19 killer.

It isn't released yet but it should be soon...

Who did it? What is the gun???

Well answer to question one.... Glock
Now answer to question two..... G48 .... MOS

Turns out Glock did a little silent advertising drop of the next gen G43x and G48 (unlike their week long hype of a stupid ass .22lr the G44)

Now how could this be a Glock 19 killer... well the G48 is damn near the same size as the G19.. but slimmer (the G48 may actually be slightly taller) "of course its slimmer duh" you might be saying.. "it only holds 10 rounds"

Well yes 1st it is slimmer and well that makes it from the factory only hold 10 rounds which many will say wow look its a better option than the G19 here in ban states, why get a bigger gun designed to hold 15 rounds when you can only have 10..

Well the G48 (and 43x) can with Shield Arms mags hold a flush fitting 15 rounds for those in "freerer" states.. so now its almost the same size as a G19 but slimmer but holds the same amount of ammo.

Now with all that what does something like the G19 offer over the 48??

2 things, 1st and it is slight edge to the G19.. ability to use optics (red dots), this is a slight edge because there are people out there who have been putting Trijicon RMRs on to glock 43, 43x, and 48s or even adding the Aimpoint ACRO.. but many people don't like the overhang of the RMR.

Well to address issue one. The new 48 and 43x MOS will be taking slim line optics like the Shield (trash) Sig Romeo (Trash) and the new Holosun 407k/507k (maybe more idk)

Issue number 2... there was no accessory rail for the 43, 43x, and 48. This means the only light option available for those who wanted to add a wml is a Streamlight TLR-6 which is better than no light but is absolutely garbage as a light.

Welp issue 2 will be solved as the 43x and 48 mos will have accessory rails..

I wouldn't be surprised if it was just the G36 frame retooled for 9mm. G36 has been due for a dustoff for a little while.

I dunno guys, G48>G19nseems lime a no brainer in NY and 15 in a 48 vs 15 19 is also compelling.
But perhaps not enough for me to ditch the my 19. Especially since the 19 can take a happy stick whereas the 48 cannot.

See and the G48 wasn't worth looking at because the limited red dot mounting options (holosun has fixed that issue, just hard to find optics right now in stock, rumor is trijicon will be droping a slim line RMR eventually hahaha) and the big thing was no way to run a quality WML but these will be able to.

Will I be ditching my G34 for one of these. Nope, but this now makes the 48 line more appealing to both restricted states (oem mags) and non restricted states (using the shield arms mags)

I'm quite satisfied with the Glocks I have. About the only thing I see myself doing is swapping my existing 3rd and 4th gen guns to 5th gen. For my needs, Glock knocked it out of the park with the 43. The addition of the extended ETS mag turned it into a grand slam.

But just because I don't get excited about Glock's "revolutionary" new offerings anymore, it doesn't mean that nobody else should.

I will get a .40 in gen 5 when they come out. I wonder if they will make .45’s in gen 5. I haven’t seen anything on that.

I can't speak to the pistols but the ETS mags were the *only* mags that didn't run right in my AR9. And I'm not talking about spotty LRBHO performance I'm talking failures to feed, jams, you name it.

Yea ETS have terrible track records and id personnel never use them for anything other than IG photos.

Glock mags are inexpensive enough already, saving a few bucks for loss of reliability isn't what I'd call a win.. ill occasionally use Pmags for range mags but even those meh

I've run about 3,000 total rounds through my ETS G43 mags, and haven't had a single hiccup. But everybody has their own experiences.

I have to say for the first time past my first gun purchase I’m considering a glock.
the 43x looks really appealing to me. Perfect weight, grip, and barrel length. I’d be curious to see price and compare it to the sig 365 xl.

The same could be said of the wheel.
It doesn't make sense to redesign something that is so well. It is so good that Glock changed they way all pistols
are manufactured today.
The directives are still the same today as 80 years ago. A pistol is a tool to reliably dispense bullets, before anything else.
