Don't worry, I simply standardized on American calibers for self defense. 5.56 +.308.
I also stock .243, .6.5, .30-30, 20 ga, 12 ga, and I'm thinking of adding .270 and .30-06.

@Vapor, the rifle in the bottom pics, what handguard is that? Looks like a polymer forend with pic rails? Never seen one like that before. Looks cool though.

I actually had 3 different fore ends. The smg, an aluminum one, and the zukov. They were all fine, but the zukov worked best with the utlimak.
That saiga went to a personal friend. He loves it. He also got about 2k of ammo, and 18 mags with it haha.
I still have spare parts floating around

With a 2-7 scope I would get 1.5"-2" groups from pri partizan ammo. Certainly serviceable and better than most ak pattern rifles. About 2.5" with Tula ammo. Back then it was $9 a box for 40 rounds.
I just find it hilarious that ak lovers would praise that, but a mini-14 is a pile of crap if it gets 2" groups.
Anyway, certainly very serviceable and reliable guns. I never had a malfunction once in either. Yes, I did the bullet guides myself. Once I had then in, I gently polished the edge of the bullet guide with a file to improve feeding and keep soft point bullets from getting too marked up. It was my first time really drilling and tapping anything. I took my time and went very slow. Just used a regular old drill press.

Really nice looking setups there. Do they have the side rails? You could lower the scope height significantly with an RS Regulate mount.

The Mideest industries rail mount was so low it rubbed ny top cover a bit.
