I would like to post some video on the forum from time to time, Of the red dot I just ordered for example. I have no interest in uploading videos to youtube or any other such similar site. Is there a way to directly upload a video to the forum?

You should be able to use the "Upload a File" button to upload photos or a video from your phone or computer.
