So I'm bored, half watching some youtube video while dry firing my Glock. Then I went and got my PPQ out for shits and giggles.
Know what? The Gen 5 Glock trigger is not bad at all. In fact I think is pretty good. The main thing is the PPQ trigger is much lighter.
The PPQ hits the end of its first stage much further back than the Glock but I like the Glocks reset better than the PPQ's. With the PPQ after reset there is a little bit of travel back to the wall but on the Glock there is none and I like that.
The Glocks overall ergos feel like total ass in comparison though. And I have no idea why you never hear about the edgy, snaggy catastrophe that is the the Glock magwell. And the Gen 5 "flared" magwell does absolutely jack shit to help anything since it's the fore and aft sides of the magwell that have all the 90° edges the catch the magazine.
And what the hell is with this?!
What is that snagtastic little ledge for?
Speaking of snagtastic:
Look at that mess in there! All the hard edges!
Look at how smooth the PPQ is in comparison:
All smooth angles. No flare on the PPQ magwell, just a bit of subtle beveling is all that is needed. And that magazine is nice and slick too.
All said and done though, I can conceal the G19 pretty well under even just a loose T shirt and I shoot it better than the PPQ for some reason, even if it does feel like ass in the hand.
Big, blocky ass. And the magazines are almost 1/3 the cost as the PPQ's. I suppose the short, fat magazine and the resultant 2x4 grip of the Glock is what allows it to be just that critical bit more concealable than the PPQ.
And I wish Heine made their Straight 8 sights for the PPQ because I like them much better than the Trijicon HD sights I have on the Walther.
