Don't know about Doc, but as a former Squid, I think it's a good idea. Urinals were a real pain in the ass to maintain. The salt water used to flush them really did a number on the internals. When the Navy had/has Men's and Women's heads, it was often hard find the right one when you needed it. Damned split tails took over an enormous amount of space when they moved on to the boats.
How about some gender neutral berthing areas?

By the way in the Navy we call them HEADS, not fucking bathrooms. Only tub on board is the Skippers!

I think it's great. I'm sure they have great Internet. Now we can sit there in peace and take a shit and play games and post on the forum.

Day one of being assigned to the 2nd Ranger battalion, I was handed my RLCS, a HUGE duffle full of gear carriers..........mag pouches, gernade pouches, hydration carrier, body armor carrier.......etc.
I thought to myself, "dang, this is kinda massive."
After fully loaded I said, "dang, this is kinda heavy".
At 6ft, 210 pounds the gear was manageable but a PITA.
Granted you dont usually carry it all and learn shortcuts, but carrying 90 pounds of gear in 100 degree heat while being aware of people trying to kill you can wear on the toughest men.
I cannot imagine a girl, claiming to be a man, dealing with this, plus having the faith from her brothers to carry them to saftey if needed.
Men and women ARE different!!
They both have their qualities.
Infantry combat is a mans sport.

A man who lived for eight years as a transgender female says President Donald Trump did the right thing for the U.S. military, as well as for all Americans, by banning transgenders from serving in the military.


Walt Heyer, who has transitioned back to his birth gender, writes in a commentary that his personal experience leads him to support Trump’s announcement:

“I think he made the right decision—and as someone who lived as trans-female for several years, I should know.”

Heyer says allowing transgenders to serve is “devastating…to the fitness, readiness, and moral of our combat read troops.”

“The military is a Fighting Force, Not a Gender Clinic,” Heyer says, adding that concept of taxpayer-funded transition surgery for service members defies logic:

“Paying for transition-related surgeries for military service members and their families is beyond comprehensible.”

Starting today, the U.S. military will pay for gender reassignment surgery for transgender soldiers, a program that could cost up to $8.4 million a year.

The Defense Department's policy states that if a soldier's ability to serve is "adversely affected by a medical condition or medical treatment related to their gender identity," they are eligible for reassignment surgery or hormone therapy, subject to a commander's approval for the timing.

If nothing else surely we can meet in a common ground on this point, can't we? I cannot believe that the house recently approved surgery so that people with severe body dysmorphia can cut their genitals up on the tax dime. It's really very, very silly.

But I'm sure I read that people who get this surgery have the same outcomes as those who don't; i.e. they don't feel anymore at peace with themselves. So why pay for it?

Moreover, forget the trans thing. If I know I have a situation that makes me essentially unfit for service and then I sign up for service, how can I ethically then demand the military pay for a procedure so that I am now at peace with myself and fit for service? If you applied for a job as a truck driver and it turns out your license was forfeit due to $10k in fines, can you then reasonably expect your new employer, who you failed to disclose this to, to cover your $10k in fines so that you're actually able to perform the job?

Trump didn't ban anything, he rolled back progressive feel good, safe room tree hugging criminal migrant coddler's agenda that permeated the previous administration hell bent on creating a legacy no matter the cost or collateral damage. From bowing to foreign kings, to lastly giving billions back to the world's prominent supporter of terrorism... Barack Hussein Obama's disdain for the military was quite evident throughout his administrations 8 years! From evacuating the field of battle, relinquishing hard fought gains at American lives cost, to the coffe cup non-salute... The previous Commander in Chief was an asshole!

So... It's not Trump doing anything, but removing BS liberal progressivism from the Military! Don't like it? Don't sign the dotted line, it's that simple!!! Remember, politics have no place in warfare, although it's always politics that muddy the fight! And yeah, Warfare is an extension of politics (Clausewitz).

Personally, I think it's a move out of the old diversion book, something to talk about instead of Russia... To which I say, nice play... Lol

I'd like to weigh in on this. Simply put, I enjoy the dick. Now that its outa the way (In case im questioned on validity of my comments) To begin; lets talk about the trangender issue. I DO think it's a illness, to a degree. I'm no scientist by any means, but I believe it is homosexuality, that is taken a step too damn far. (No, homosexuality is not an illness, in nature many animals exhibit this, I mean the act of wanting a dick/vag change) Let's use common friggin sense. You are born with one of two genitalia MOST OF THE TIME. If you are born, with a XY chromosome, YOU ARE A MAN! NO SURGERY WILL CHANGE YOUR BIOLOGICAL GENDER. And the same vice versa. I am not religious in any way. I am a man of science and logic. I am no bigot, not a religious fanatic, etc. Its simply logic. If you change your genitalia, you are still your original gender, either XX or XY. I WILL ADDRESS YOU BY YOUR BIOLOGIC GENDER! And the fact that people attempt to force a biological lie upon me, is a LITERAL crime against nature. I (and many others of the scientific community) will not abide by this.

Now let's talk about Mr. President attempting to ban this within the military. (I will speak of the fact my father was a MP, so to a DEGREE, I know the military mindset) This is only an issue for snowflake pussies. We have to take into account that the rest of the world is watching what we do, ESPECIALLY with how we conduct our military. Many countries do not respect simple fact that we have women in our military (and others too). To simply wish to make our military the most fan fucking tastic the most dangerous in the whole damned world, is nothing short of pure unadulterated kick ass American patriotism. We need to toughen up. Let me ask this, why should we let trans people fight for a WHOLE DAMN COUNTRY, if they CANT FIGHT OVER WHETHER OR NOT THEY WANT TO BE A DAMN MAN OR WOMAN?!?!?!?! I want the meanest damn men/women the military can create. I want the most confident people to fight for what is right. If you dont have confidence in your own skin, IMO; YOU ARE A GIGANTIC ASS FUCKIN' LIABILITY!

But because this is a free country, we have the unfortunate issue of having dangerous, complete idiots, having a obnoxiously loud voice in the community.

IMO, this is not an issue to intelligent people, just my sad, sad, generation. (and hippies) and though I really dont "Like" Mr. President, I believe he has in SOME WAY, the best interest in mind

I'm somewhat mixed in this. I encourage anyone who feels patriotic to serve their country.

Unfortunately the military isn't for everyone. There are people disqualified for any number of reasons, medical, health, substance abuse, prior arrests, mental aptitude etc... The military is different from other jobs because at the end of the day whether you are directly engaging the enemy or not, what you do at your job directly or indirectly has people's lives depending on it.

The military is about killing people and breaking things.

I don't want the military to be a social experiment. I respect gays, lesbians, trans etc and realize anyone has the capability to make meaningful contributions to society it's just in not sure the military is quite ready for that yet.

This isn't starship troopers (come in who doesn't remember the shower scene) in basic, schooling, the field etc males and females are segregated in their living areas, showers etc. I think the military is ready to accept gays and lesbians but not quite sure about trans yet. Gays and lesbians share the same plumbing as their straight counterparts just have sex with different partners. The guys can still live together, shower together, etc... I think it would be very awkward to figure out how to handle these arrangements with the trans people. Where would they shower? They wouldn't be a part of the group, would they need completely separate livingbquarters? Etc..

I dunno I just have to think about it. I'm sure there are some scenarios where it can work but at the end of the day I don't think many trans people really want to join the military anyways. Trans make up a very small percentage of the general military eligible population , and of that probably only a miniscule amount would want to be in the military. So potentially for a few hundred or few thousand trans people the military will be distracted and forced to accomodate a small group. I just don't know if it's in the military's best interest right now until they really think it through.
