In other news, the article says the WHO hid evidence that RoundUp causes cancer. I mean they hid evidence that RoundUp does not cause cancer.
The article starts off by quoting a Trump tweet about "Comprehensive Background Checks with regard to Mental Health" and somehow segues into "opening the door to firearms registrations"? Talk about crappy reporting!
While we're on the subject, however, how would that NOT fall afoul of Federal Law 18 U.S.C. 926:
No such rule or regulation prescribed [by the Attorney General] after the date of the enactment of the Firearms Owners Protection Act may require that records required to be maintained under this chapter or any portion of the contents of such records, be recorded at or transferred to a facility owned, managed, or controlled by the United States or any State or any political subdivision thereof, nor that any system of registration of firearms, firearms owners, or firearms transactions or disposition be established. Nothing in this section expands or restricts the Secretary's authority to inquire into the disposition of any firearm in the course of a criminal investigation.
Then again, New York has been permitted to have a gun registration for decades. So much for enforcing current Laws!

The Feds are barred from having a gun registration. Though anything NFA is registered and it can be argued they already have a backdoor registration for everything else through NICS and the 4473. The states are another matter.

Dont worry about t doc. I used to beat up on moms demand action for their misleading headlines too. Then they banned me.
I have huge problems with this article, their way of thinking, and others apparently. If they do universal background checks just why do they feel they need 100% gun registration? What so they can catch those selling guns privately without a background check. They would then need to redo the gun registration every so often. So no I don’t see that happening. If it does man watch out. To me background checks have nothing to do with gun registrations.
