Priorities? (prepping and what to buy next?)

Folks I had been on a few sites in Europe and a disclaimer said Due to the war in Ukraine we do not know when this item will be available for sale .. I understand the need for food ... At times my mind swims at this question.. What things other than food will be in short supply and I will need ... 6 months from now... ?I have been concentrating on putting together a get home/bug out bag for my girlfriend.
Bought her a back pack 2 years ago.. She has put nothing in it. Says I watch too many You Tubes about end of the world stuff.. In the previous posts I have mentioned what purchases I have made. Food Water Shelter.. 3 main things needed in a get home bag ... Mrs whisper light gas stove. SS water bottle, Put it right in the fire to boil water, . 10 x 10 tarp. Mountainhouse meals.... Flash, light, knife ,compass ,maps , first aid kit... and so on... The main thing that is driving me to put this together is looking at you tube's of women fleeing into Poland ... Dragging a suitcase, Garbage bags full of stuff and a few kids. . An occasional back pack can be seen. So much for making time if one needs to cover distance because one might have an army 20 miles in back of you.. You say well they are safe in Poland .. Wait until Poland enters the war...All this good will at the refugees ....Poof... They will be on their own with the snap of a finger... Then it is a real SHTF for these folks. ... Not saying we will be in the same situation. however ... We could be in a crazy period Cyber attacks and all.. Many supplies one needs will not to be had at any cost. perhaps in the future. Too late to get things in order by then...

I purchased a Bluetti AC200P plus 3 200W solar panels. BLUETTI AC200P Portable Power Station | 2000W 2000Wh

After researching for a couple of months I felt this was the best unit for our purposes. I wasn't looking to power the whole house. I just wanted a handful of things such as the fridge, mini freezer, television, laptop, phones, etc. to have juice. Fortunately we haven't had to use it but I feel we made a good investment.

Bigger is better

The more input wattage the faster it will charge.

Get a parabolic reflector so it's non electrically solar powered....

I dipped a toe into the Solar world this past week, and got a small solar generator along with a 100w panel. Plan on trying it out as a power source for some holiday lights so I don’t have to run a cord to them. Figure if it does what I need it to, I may expand after that to add a few panels on top of the outdoor kitchen area.

What are you using for storage batteries?
I've been offered panels for free, and have a large inverter, but have no batteries (which sucks because m last Job I could have had pretty much whatever I wanted)

Actually, this set up is as simple as I can go. The panel goes directly to the solar generator as the input source. The generator has a built in charge controller.

I just posted another thread regarding a different set up. For that, I’d be thinking initially using some relatively inexpensive deep cycle marine for a proof of concept (and it’s an outdoor application) and then going with golf cart batteries likely. I’d love to buy battle born batteries, but that would be a hard sell to the wife as just a simple project cost wise.

Most certainly will. I initiated operation Bambi this evening.

Photos of panel leading to generator (basically a battery) and then to a photosensitive outlet. Will see if it gets enough jusice during the day to stay topped off.

So, the lights attached to it are about a 10w load if the display on the Jackery is to be trusted. I have the lights attached to a timer, so they ran for 6 hours last night. Checking the Jackery this AM, it showed 62% charge remaining. Just checked on it now with it being attached to the solar panel and its up to 88%, so I think for this particular application, its overkill, which is fine. I need to actually figure out the correct inclination for the panel as I just have it propped up against the house now. The Jackery is reading 46w of input of the panel and I really dont feel like dicking with it at the moment to find the optimal tilt for the panel.

I'll let you know at the end of the month how well it held up running at night and charging during the day for the rest of the month. I am curious to see how it does in freezing temps.
