I go back primarily to visit family, friends, and for the food. In that order. And when I go back, I go armed. You should too if you have your CCW permit. Hell, with what most of us went through just to get our permits, - and to keep them over the years, why wouldn't you go the small extra step to keep it?

I was known as an honest guy, and was called upon to do many audits of social organizations, when they believed they had a problem, I always found embezzlement.
Bankers are far worse than me, by the way when it comes to getting a mortgage, and when cash cannot be explained.

People went to jail.. I was an outsider, and the members just could not bear to spill the beans on a friend....this way they could blame the auditor, and committee.

Once given enough rope for some unknown reason, it hits the proverbial wall, when you can least afford it, or expect it. It is just the truth. "Ahamaahamahamahama."


All I have suggested is this likely con man, just hire a Lawyer in Fla and in NYS, to get the licenses and residence issue resolved.................BUT HE LIKELY CANNOT CHANCE IT!!!!!!!

I knew him well, and inadvertently explained my gun collection to him, before the SA was dropped on us. I explained grandfathered mags, pre ban and post ban guns I owned..........and Garands which were exempted. Did I write the Safe Act? NO, but I must have had a hand in it...INADVERTENTLY....same old story, you just do not know what is right around the corner and if you have not been honest in the past, it bites you hard.
Honesty is the best policy.

I have legal permits in 3 states, property in 2 states and simply trying to retain my NYS permit…….but the Oneida form makes it very difficult and 4 different PD refuse to sign it and I actually agree with them - they simply do not have the info they need to sign it

So it may be that I need to give up my permit if I cannot get recertified - would be a loss clearly

i have contacted the NYS Police to see if they can help - sent them copies of everything - all permits, addresses, background check in FL and my FL drivers license

So they have everything to make a decision

The fact that you have not retained a Lawyer, in any of the states you are permitted in, regarding this NR issue, is telling.

NYSP do not issue CCP permits, Local Judges do, like Judge Dwyer.

Recerts are done mostly on line, by the NYSP, but oops A FORM HAS DROPPED OUT OF THE SKY. Why? NYSP contacts Sullivan and Dwyer on the recert, and the rocket takes off.

"Someone" NYSP, smells something about multiple addresses. Only a JUDGE---DWYER, can resolve this now, and so......HIRE A FUCKING LAWYER. Cant go around him on this now. He is the first and last for your NR permit.

NYSP only do investigations, and forward said findings to the local Judge, DA or NYS AG or whomever.

I am sure that people who have gun permits in 3 states and who cannot get a form filled out, is simply amazing, and a larger issue may lurk in the background.

Oneida county is simply following NYS Law.

Hire a Lawyer or two, to negotiate with the Judge....Fla lawyer can speak with NYS Lawyer and it can go forward to Dwyer..........Lawyers are officers of the court and cannot lie.

1. Proof of citizenship or lawful status
2. For a Standard document (not a Real ID or Enhanced document), proof of residency is not required.
3. There is no age restriction to obtain a non-driver ID card, however if you are under age 16, parental consent is required.
4. If you are a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipient, please bring documentation with you to the office.

It is not a requirement to have any type of address in NY to obtain a NY non-driver ID.

That's county dependent like you alluded to. Some counties will revoke your NY permit as soon as they find out that you no longer reside in NY, others have no issue with it and simply have you update your address on file with the county clerk to your new out-of-state address.

That Oneida County shit they are demanding he get completed in Florida is just completely fucking insane, and Unconstitutional. First, thanks to everyone who helped with suggestions and recommendations - much appreciated

I submitted everything by snail mail to NYSP (recert form, FL Drivers License, Copy of NY and FL homes address, copy of existing NY Permit, copy of FL background check completed), my recertification came through today with zero issues at all

Next recert is 8/2026...............I can live with that
