Pill bottles are considered paraphernalia, for those of us who aren't pill pop'n addicts, cops consider them a red flag. Do not keep small parts in your glove box in plastic cylinder containers "pill bottles" if seen you will be questioned.

I keep my prescription anti inflammatory meds in my car, ill be damned if im asked to step out. Sounds like bullshit to me. Since when os that acceptable to ask someone to step out of the car for prescription meds? @Airborneguy @GOPerfect

I would never keep my registration and ins card where i keep ANYTHING that could give cause for a search.

I once borrowed my cousins car and got pulled over for speeding. Upon being asked for registration i checked the console and as i opened it i saw a pot bowl. I closed it quickly and calmly hoping the 2 officers didnt see it, and luckily they didnt.

so where is my registration card ??? ...

There is nothing illegal about having pill bottles absent labels. There is nothing illegal about carrying pills in those bottles. Having bottles with pills in them is "not" probable cause for a search.

Complicate it all by having them in a vehicle and you are dismissing implied consent while operating a vehicle in NYS. The "stop" most certainly won't be initiated because you have them unless frequenting a known drug location, lol, but if in "view" while stopped can then be questioned. If you possess "controlled substances" you need that prescription or yeah, you'll have a problem. If you knowingly have them without a prescription you already have made a conscious choice to accept risk. So what's the question? If you're carrying vitamins in them who cares... You're aren't doing anything illegal, nothing to sweat!

It is not unlawful to purchase needles and syringes 10 at a time in any pharmacy in NYS. Perhaps there are special rules once crossing the Bridge into the Gulag. There seems to be special rules for just about anything you do there. No ID or any other type of documentation required. Perhaps when you walk out the door with them you become a criminal. To this I cannot comment.

I should probably clarify. I’m a farmer and keep a bunch of stuff in my truck and many times that includes syringes. I buy them from my vet or other farm supply stores. I buy them legally and use them for legal purposes. How is that a crime?

I’m not the only farmer who’s truck is like that. And I actually did get pulled over a few weeks ago and there’s no way the officer didn’t see something and nothing was said. I was pulling my stock trailer at the time so that may have helped.

We buy them all the time for animal use. And in quantities higher than 10. No id.

I get why, but you guys think of these scenarios from the “good guy getting screwed” point of view. Everyone I’ve ever dealt with who was carrying either de-labeled or someone else’s pill bottle was not a good person and deserved what they got.
