I’ve never once asked for permission to search a vehicle, person, house, etc. I’ve found that what keeps me dealing with real perps and rarely getting complaints is only conducting such actions when I already know what I’m going to find. Not fishing means I’ve probably missed a lot of stuff, but it also means I’ve never flaked anyone.

There is nothing illegal about having pill bottles absent labels. There is nothing illegal about carrying pills in those bottles. Having bottles with pills in them is "not" probable cause for a search.
Complicate it all by having them in a vehicle and you are dismissing implied consent while operating a vehicle in NYS. The "stop" most certainly won't be initiated because you have them unless frequenting a known drug location, lol, but if in "view" while stopped can then be questioned. If you possess "controlled substances" you need that prescription or yeah, you'll have a problem. If you knowingly have them without a prescription you already have made a conscious choice to accept risk. So what's the question? If you're carrying vitamins in them who cares... You're aren't doing anything illegal, nothing to sweat!
This might have been true once but can't be true anymore. There are no more prescriptions, they are all sent electronically to pharmacies. And, one of my wifes meds comes in a 90 day large container, no way is she going to carry that huge container around when all she needs with her is her daily doses.

I don't like the "Shitbag" excuse. If the procedure for catching them affects me as a generally law abiding good person, then that procedure sucks any way you slice it.

Of course you do. I have purchased these implement's from Tractor Supply as well as #21 scapel lblades.
I do believe that the purchase is limited to 10 though when buying from a pharmacy.

We give the police discretion, it is a necessity in doing their job. I understand what Airborne means and commend him for his discretion, knowing that sometimes a few bad guys will get the benefit of his judgment. It is the officer that loses that discretion and treats everyone as the bad guy. That is the the few that jade public opinion in how they see all the police, especially young people.

I asked the Pharmacist at our local drug store if they sold syringes, she disappeared and reappeared on my side of the counter acting all clandestine, pulling me aside and handing me a wad of brandy new, hermetically sealed packages each containing one syringe. I started laughing out loud and told her in a bit louder than normal voice. Hell, I'm not a druggie, I use them to inflate nightcrawler's for when the bass are surface feeding, you know fishing! I Don't think she believed me.

“A person is guilty of criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument when he or she knowingly and unlawfully possesses or sells a hypodermic syringe or hypodermic needle. It shall not be a violation of this section when a person obtains and possesses a hypodermic syringe or hypodermic needle pursuant to section thirty-three hundred eighty-one of the public health law, which includes the state’s syringe exchange and pharmacy and medical provider-based expanded syringe access programs.”
Purchase and possession are two different things. If you have a prescription for needles, you can possess them. The law does not say only a certain amount.

No prescription. Some meds I have to get through a vet that do come with a script. There are plenty of other injectables from vitamin and mineral supplements to dewormers to antibiotics I can buy without involving a vet.
I’m really curious about this now. Myself and others regularly keep some syringes and needles with meds in our trucks. Besides that I have to transport the needles and syringes even if I don’t keep them in my truck. I may clean the ones off the dash now. I’m in a somewhat rural area but travel into the city 2-3 times a week where farmers aren’t so common. Maybe letting the leo smell the floor of my truck would get me out of trouble.

Well it took you longer than I expected to research and post a law. Because of other interactions with your posting I could almost predict 100% your response and your analysis in regards to purchase and possession.
Shame on me for not predicting your response in my original post as I had considered.
I am sure the pharmacy would not sell to me and thousands of others if it was illegal in any way shape or manner.
In regards to possession I will say it first, it goes to the state of the officers mind if and when he or she sees medication containers or syringes and or needles in someone's possession. See, I learned well.
I will not debate it further. I will just keep buying what I need as will thousands of others and hop along doing so like the EverReady Bunny. Just two nights ago I used one of two 3cc syringes with a 20 gauge needle attached to remove a sliver from the SO's hand. And I transported them from NY to FL. I probably broke some law in doing so. LOL

Your a VERY BAD BOY! You are buying and worst of all possessing those sinister instruments without a prescription. Oh, and the drugs you buy without prescription? Probably makes you a felon. Next time you need to Rx mastitis be sure to sneak into the barn at 0200 to administer the illicit drugs you are in possession of. I heard officer slappy is now working for the Dept. It wasn’t that hard to find. It’s a commonly used law. See the hypo and probable cause exists for everything else.
But the officer has discretion and can ask you why do you have it. Give a good answer and he believes you, nothing more said.
Now, the belief that the pharmacy wouldn’t sell something to you that would be illegal. Dude, please don’t go based on that belief. Go look it up yourself or maybe ask them.
Stores sell illegal stuff all the time. Do you know any stores that sell the aluminum bottles of beer in New York State with the twist off cap? Illegal in NYS. Stores sell gravity knives and switchblades in NYS too. ( real gravity knives and switchblade and not that NYC definition).
Just be careful with that belief

Either switch blades or gravity knives are in legal i forget which one, there is an exemption, they can be used while fishing ... came across the law a while back ... i have to hunt that one down again.
