I get that. I am happy to see an example of policing your own. I have been fortunate to have others step up in the past to assist me. Fantastic.

I get the feeling they knew this guy well and did not like him prior to this incident. Just a gut feeling.
He also had the cuffs out prior to have the situation under control. That is a mistake that too many officers make. Control the prep, then pull out the tools of the trade. Holding cuffs in one hand takes away the ability to use that hand to assist in winning.

Good job by the guy who subdued him. Others attacking him while on ground and defenseless are a bunch of freaking animals. Noticed guy who subdued him had knee on his neck while helping officer cuff suspect. Where's the media outrage? Seemed to take a long time before officer was back in fight he should consider desk job lol.
Most departments, no. Especially in this day in age of cameras watching every copper out there.

They are probably going to come after that officer and his department for not intervening sooner.

I think that guy was great. He told the others to stop hitting him while he held them down.When Fat Albert gets a hold of you it’s over!!
One thing I wonder is if this guy would have suffocated to death would they have rioted and arrested the guy in the white shirt?
Somehow I don't see this being picked up by any news outlets. Can't show black people helping white cops. That would prove this whole mess is made up and only a small percentage of people are rioting and that most don't have issues with cops or society
I dont think so, especially if the cop asked for help, which it looked like he was asking.
The law is pretty clear about assisting an officer in need. Even to the point of a citizen using deadly force. There are alot of these type cases, look around online.
I believe the main defender (aka...Fat Albert) will be just fine.
