It is legal. Finding one in PA that will do it is another matter. There are some but most just don't want to deal with it.

I'm looking to acquire a Sauer in 222 Remington and the Eurooptic store in Montoursville has them in stock. I guess I will call ahead or send another email to make sure that they will be willing to sell to a NYer.
Over a bolt gun though? How could there possibly be an issue with bolt guns?

No more border state rule for long guns. You can purchase and take possession in any state in the union. Finding an FFL that will do it...
Believe PA FFL may sell long gun to NYS resident directly IF THEY CHOOSE TO DO SO. They don't have to or may require shipment to NY FFL and have transfer to NY resident done on NY FFL's books.
Any pistol must go to NY FFL. Also any private sale by out of state individual must be sent to NY FFL for transfer.

Some just don't want to deal with a NYer same as some companies won't deal with NYers for the shipping of legal items.
If I remember correctly, there was a thread at the old site about someone trying to buy one in Walmart and failed. Then others started mentioning the same thing at other places.
That's bullshit, there's no reason for it, there is no law or liabilty against and of selling a bolt gun to a NY citizen. There is no hassel, only prejudice and laziness. Uncalled for! FUAC!
What would your round trip driving expense and time cost you as to buying it and shipping it to a NY FFL and transfer fee?

No real legal liability, but if Cuomo decides to sue, he could put some small dealer out of business long before they win.
How is going to sue, by what basis? Not his jurisdiction and he has no authority over interstate commerce especially when the entire transaction takes place outside his shithole state.

It's more of a timing thing. I would like to be able to drive down and handle the rifle to make sure that I like it then bring it home with me so that I have time to work up some loads for a woodchuck tournament next wkend.

About a year ago I was in a Walmart in Pa. They had a Mossberg 500 on sale. When I got to the point to pay for it they asked for a Pa driver's licence. When I confessed that I was from NY they said they could not sell to non-residents. Could just be Walmart.

purchase or otherwise obtain a rifle and/or shotgun in a contiguous
state, and to receive or transport such rifle and/or shotgun into this
state; provided, however, such person is otherwise eligible to possess a
rifle and/or shotgun under the laws of this state.
