Cliff notes- Homeslice, who happens to be a city council member, told a friend he wanted to off himself and the police intervened. Cops put him on 72 hour psych hold and confiscated a full featured AR, standard cap mag and a shotgun and then arrested him for his evil possessions.

aggravating, how a person can be a prohibited person in a couple states, but the rest of the country, that same person, is a law abiding citizen, free to roam and do as he pleases. Because a petulant dick-tator rules that its "illegal" to possess a piece of metal. NY just sucks ass.

I think about that more and more as I travel around.

I can be a free man, exercising a constitutional right, and because of some imaginary geographical line in the sand, suddenly find myself a potential felon.

A few weeks ago I drove RT 11 from PA into NY. It dawned on me how crazy it was that two houses can be next to each other, one free and the other not simply because of an imaginary line.

Imagine living in one house being allowed to say anything you want, but next door, the same speech could send you to prison. Substitute going to church, or meeting with your friends.... It's insane

Really? This is NYS they can ruin your life for anything in a heartbeat and will. They don’t care. Look what Cuomo did? Looks what hochul is doing. This state is a lost cause.

PA guy had nothing to do with it, did nothing wrong, and was in legal possession of them in PA. NY Sheriff did not inquire about anything except what was on the NY permit.

I am sure like most people wanting to get on with their life it will be plead down to a misdemeanor charge with probation and that will be the end of it. Well except he will loose his Second rights after that.
Most people do not have the fortitude or finances to fight.

If the co-owned guns were on the permit of someone residing in say Oklahoma (or any other non NY bordering state), would the purple tie faction travel out of their jurisdiction to steal those co-owned guns? It's no different going 1 mile over the border to PA than it is going 1,000 miles over the border to a non bordering state.

Something just doesn't sound right with this story.

The man was going through a horrible mental issue attack, reached out for help and all levels failed him.

His friends, the Police, the DA.... All failed a man seeking help.

When you make a man a felon, then you're not giving him many options. How many good men are willing to just give up and go to a life locked up forever, for seemingly not hurting anyone?

It's something to think about. I don't know the answer to that question, either.
