Three decades ago I was developing loads for the .445 Super Mag. used for Silhouette shooting: the only published Data came from Accurate Arms Powder, and upon contacting them their Engineer told me "we deliberately reduce the maximum load published by 10% as a safety."
Formulas and production methods change, and what was then might not be what it is now. Take "4350" powder for example; there's IMR4350, H4350, AA4350, Shooters World 4350, and while they're all intended for the same cartridges, their Loading Data varies several grains, as does the pressures and OAL for different Bullets. (I shoot a lot of Barns Solid Copper Bullets and those loads are a lot different when using their exclusive Book)
With so many variables between Powders, Bullets, Primers, Cases (yes, they often DO make a difference) and varying guns those rounds will be fired from, it's a Roulette Wheel of chance and the best you can do is start low and work up.
FWIW: While working up a .458 SOCOM Load the Data I found recommended '4227' and I just happened to have an un-opened can that clearly was from the 1950's and it worked marvelously! Too bad once this lot is burned up, I'll have to do it all over again with a different powder.
I thought "Western Powders" was an umbrella Name for Brands comprising them such as Accurate arms, Blackhorn, Ramshot.

yes .. in a Glock .. every load charge from min to max tumbled ... it hit the target sideways ..
Glocks do not like plated bullets ... or at least my friends Glock
This was years ago when we reloaded berrys bullets ..
i think it was the 10mm Glock we loaded up for .. i would have to confirm with my friend or run outside to the shop ..
there is some berrys bullets left in the box .. i know that ..
its a issue with Glock polygonal rifling with plated bullets ..
just saying what we ran into with them ..
Same with Lead Bullets: Glock recommend against using them, and Plated bullets are not as hard as jacketed bullets, they also say NOT to use reloaded ammunition in their Pistols...perhaps but one reason why aftermarket Glock Barrels sell so well.

Besides the Glock issue, you have to look on their website and box for recommended max velocity. For most of their pistol bullets, the plating is thin and can't withstand high velocities. They do make a 0.429" bullet that is rated up to 1850 fps and I use for practice .44 Mag loads. Everything from light 44 Specials to full-house 44 Mag loads. They hit to the same POI as my 240 gr JSPs.Anyone try ,

Besides that, they also advise using a light crimp on their bullets so as to not break the plating and damage the integrity of the bullet. So if you have a load that shoots best with a heavy crimp, it won't work as well. Again, with my max load 44 Mags, I use H110 which gives best velocity and consistency with a heavy crimp. I give them a medium-light crimp and get lower velocities as well as worse accuracy than with heavily crimped jacketed and cast bullets.
They shoot just fine in my 40 S&W loads through a Glock with an aftermarket barrel and a Walther.
