With all the crazy anti-gun bullshit that seems to be everywhere right now I figured I’d share my “happy place” pistol. Every time I see the words Gun Control I go dryfire and it makes me feel better.

I shoot USPSA and Steel Challenge and this is my new game gun. It is an STI DVC Open in 9mm major.

I figured this question would come up. Comp and barrel are all one piece. Nothing is threaded.

thats what i was figuring.... only ask because i eventually plan on putting a comp on both my carry guns (G19 and P-07) and eventually would love a czechmate and or TS orange done up by Fire 4 Effect (even if it is in .40)

Problem with comping a Glock is if it’s permanent then you can’t remove the barrel to clean it, as I’m sure you know. Luckily this barrel is removed by sliding it through the front of the slide. I did see that strike industries is selling a comp that clamps to a guide rod extension. So that would keep you legal. Something to look into maybe?

What really pops is the raw stainless finish and the titanium nitride coating on the barrel. Very good looking gun, not a fan of those crazy magwells though.

meh the perm. being attached doesnt bother me still able to clean it. but sadly the one and only attempt at the clamp on glock comp by W.A.R. seemed to sell out then they just stopped. sweet blaster though

The OP's STI is a perfect example of where a comp actually belongs, putting one on a carry piece is like adding wheels to your submarine.

Bought it from an older gentleman in PA. It was technically ‘used’ but only about 300 rounds through it. It was a steal for $2500 considering they sell for around $3600 new. I changed the optic to a DPP Pro (it came with a cmore) which was another $450 or so. So around 3k all said and done.

I want an sti 2011 for CCW. I think that’s my obtainable dream gun. The Cabot s103 is just too expensive and too pretty to use.

Nice pistol. I built a few race guns from Para Ord gunsmith steel double stack frame kits. My father has the 14-45, I converted the other from 38 super to a 45 a couple years ago, no sense in having a 38 super with 10 rounds down from 22.

I hear ya there. I have a good buddy that lives in PA and brings his standard capacity magazines for me to use when I compete down there. That little taste of 22 round freedom once a month is refreshing.

As I’m sure you know MBX mags aren’t cheap but they’re the only 10rd double stack mags I could find at the time. Talk about a kick in balls to spend that kind of money on a butchered mag with the walls squeeze in....

Edward, pissing your money away on silly holsters and compensators for carry guns is completely your prerogative, I've never said otherwise. If however you were actually interested in where a comp would be of use, and where it's intended application was built for, an STI 2011 like the OPs is where one belongs.

I know where compensators got their start. Same with red dots, .

Oh and last I checked. The KKM comp was specifically designed for duty and carry not competition
