I agree. I would have preferred the hammer version but this deal was too good to pass up. I actually just picked this up on Friday. Shoots real nice.

Checked out the new lighting on the indoor range, what a difference!! The backstop was about 600 lumens before NRA recommend 1000 this backstop is 1100. I couldn't shoot indoors as I forgot IDPA had a new shooter orientation. I did have the Smith family (left little BG home) along with the Redheaded stepchild SIRT but didn't dress to shoot on the outdoor range.
It took me a little bit to find this thread I forgot it was pinned to the top.
I made it out to do some long distance shooting. I haven't done this in a few years and bad on me I didn't have anything wrote down. I had my dope memorized from the zero to 500yds memorized. The good part was I was shooting with a couple of friends that had thier shit together. That got me on steel on the first shot at 500. They were working the 800yds targets pretty hard. The mirage was pretty bad but the wind was ok.
Heres my rifle all staged.
Here's the tower they built to get us out that far.
Heres the 500 yard targets.
Here is my reload chronograph readings. I was really happy with the standard deviation. I threw out the cold bore shot.

what is the bolt action rifle ? probably just the way it looks in the photo,,, but the scope looks like it's not parallel to the barrel ? I have a Remington 700 sps that I sent back to the factory for the same reason, they totally screwed up when the drilled and tapped the action for mounts..
3 shot group @ 100 yards from an AR308 with a tasco red/green dot mounted on it. The ammo was 150 grain FMJ over 40 grains of AA2015 in LC brass and Winchester primers.
I suspect the lower one is the round that didn’t lock the bolt back. I hand fed each of the 3 rounds instead of breaking it open and loading up the mag.

It's a savage. It does look like that on the photo I'll have to take a closer look at that.
Ok so not at the range today. But getting my gear around for Saturday.. there is a 2 gun competition (shotgun and handgun) that I was going to shoot but I am not really set up for shotgun and dont feel like spending extra money for shell holders for a once a year fun shoot.
So shooting the handgun only option division. And going to give these magpul glock mags a good testing hopefully

Shot 600 rounds this weekend 400 of 45, 200 of 40.
200 rounds each Through two pistols on Saturday and 200 through three 45s today.
Was super hot but, putting rounds down range in the heat is better than watching the boob tube in the AC.

This is the second time out with the Bergara HMR 308, testing it (and myself) out at the Sheepdog Warrior range.
So far I’ve run about 30 rounds each of PPU Match (both 155gr 175gr) and Federal Gold Medal SMK 168gr. It was mostly for trying out the difference in recoil between the weights and getting to know my rifle, so I should have gotten cheaper non-match rounds.
