A fired employee is giving testimony before Congress as to something that was said with no witnesses, and there are those members of Congress (Dem's) who've stated prior to his testimony or statement that they hold him in high esteem with unquestionable ethics (Comey telling the truth).
Yeah, doesn't sound anything like a kangaroo show to me because of course this was all out already "before" he got fired!
