I heard that all the rossi's need to have the actions and feed ramps taken apart and polished up. They are designed rough and not finished at all at the factory.

I took mine apart, replaced the stock ejector spring because it sent brass into orbit, then smoothed out the edges on the feed gate and bolt. But yes, you would hope for a firearm in the 500-600 range there would be fewer sharp edges internally. I was always looking for a Marlin 1894C, but I couldn't find one for the longest time, and when I did they wanted $900 for it.

True on the Marlins or anything other than a Rossi. Prices jump into the $1K range. Too high for my blood.

Ive been wanting a marlin 1894 in 44mag, with 16" barrel myself. I was going t settle with a rossi, but decided id rather pay a little more for the one i want.

From searching on Google, it appears they do not. I've yet to find one that takes Glock magazines that'll hold the bolt open on the last round. I believe some do with Colt or Uzi magazines but none do with Glock magazines.
They do however have a manual bolt hold open if you press the magazine catch button with a full or empty magazine either inserted or removed.

I sort of thought that also. Then I saw how easy it is just throw another one in and close the lever. It can be done pretty quickly. I decided on this:

I believe he meant a tube which is loaded from the muzzle end, like 22lr rifles. The Henry;s are like this. Rossi's are tube magazine, but loaded with a gate above the trigger.

To hell with any other reasons...I'm just having too much damn fun with my 9mm PCC! I'm using it with an non-magnified red dot for self defense practice with rapid target acquisition and then with a 3x magnifier for longer range (okay...just 25 yards) shooting. With the cost of 22LR, and reloaded 9mm only running me around $0.12/round, its a heck of a bang (literally) for the buck.

Phazer, I'm pretty sure you can get accurate shots at 150 yards using that magnifier. With just my 2 moa 1x red dot, most of my shots at 100 yards are in a 6 inch circle.

6-inch groups is fine with me, even at 25 yards...because my tools are for defense and not target shooting. If I can shoot handheld groups under 6 inches at 25 yards (which I can), I'm cool.
I have nowhere to shoot aside from my indoor range. Going up to Blue Mountain (40 mile drive for me) just to load one round at a time just isn't appealing.

My reason for a PCC is same ammo. Nothing more. I don't have one, but would like one in 9mm, 45acp or if they make a semi auto 357 PCC, I'd be all over that.

I go to David Shooting Sports in Goshen. It's 0 to 100 yards indoors. I also go to Pike County PA Public Shooting Range in Milford. It's outdoors and 100 yards.

Let be rephrase. I am not a fan of lever actions or for that matter any other long gun that the cartridges are loaded into the magazine tube.

Got ya. I don't mind now that I have messed with it. It's more of a fun gun for me. I wonder if either is more reliable?
The first pistol calibers carbine I got was a Marlin camp carbine in 45 ACP it was just after my daughter's mother and I had divorced and I was just looking for some kind of gun to help relieve the stress I was going through. I already had a 22 and a Colt Sporter HBAR match but I was wanting something different. It was suggested by my Dad's gun dealer since I already had a 1911, he thought I would enjoy it. He was right, I shot that thing more than my other two rifles for the longest time. It has not been fired in a few years as it sits in the ready for things that go bump in the night. It was my first but not my last. I have added 3 other PCCs to my stable since. Actually though about getting into Cowboy action shooting for a while. I may still do it one day.
One reason, the cool factor. I wanted something that most of my shooting group does not have.
I have nearly run out of ideas on what to buy.
I wanted something larger than a hand gun, but smaller than a full size rifle to put in my jeep.

Nope. It is still at my FFL's house. I have been so damn busy. He doesn't want to bring it to work.
