That whole door to door thing is just another comedy that will arise from this non thought out illegal process. Besides the point that the explanation on the NYSP recertification page says "Issuing Judges discretion" etc. so the 2A counties won't do anything and the 2A believing LEOs won't do anything..it's just a clusterfuck of stupidity that will go by the wayside after realization that it's impossible to coordinate within a mix up huge state of different views..this ain't no Rhode Island..

Interestingly, my wife has yet to receive her re-certification letter, and her permit is only one year less than mine (but outside the 5 year limit imposed by the Tyrant).

Are you a long time NY permit holder, have you moved within the past 5 years? Your records may be current at the county level but at the state level they may have them in a deep backlog pile. Keep in mind, NY software is typically dated, does not coordinate between agencies and the county clerks don't give a rats ass about helping Albany. Computer data is printed out at the county level and has to be re-entered manually into another uncoordinated system in Albany.

When the Canadians pulled their gun registry crap in Canada a number of years ago they had a flood of bogus submissions (grease guns, air guns, BB guns). I'd love to see a number of dead people in NY (they vote) provide recertification forms. (Wear rubber gloves and let the cat piss on the envelope glue).

Also, send the recertification office a politically incorrect "Christmas" card this year.

wouldn't take much of an IT worker to get a list of the dead in New York, sign into a remote VPN, and flood their recertification site with a script listing every kind of gun under the sun.
