Just like the .308 is perfectly fine to use at super long precision competitions that people are shooting .05" groups at

What is it that you think a red dot goes through in combat? I’m curious.

Because other than rain, temperature at 120 degrees and an occasional bang on a humvee or a stone wall corner, I don’t know what you think they go through in combat environments.

Did you watch the torture tests? Holosun has come a long ways in the last few years. From the drop tests, water submersion, freezing, hell- in the video above they even shot it with a 12 guage at 10 yards and it still worked and held zero.

It'll take any abuse you can throw at it.

It appears that these are at least arguably decent, in my price range:

Holosun 510
EOTech 512
Trijicon MRO

Any thoughts on which is more favorable than the others? Or would any of these three be suitable?

Trijicon is nice, holosun has better reticle than the eotech, along with much better features. Also has a crisper dot than the aimpoints. Even people with astigmatism don't complain about the holosun.

Easy choice in my eyes.

I never said they were as battle proven as the big three, but they do have more features and are half the cost and plenty durable.

For an extra $50 they even have an enclosed emitter version if you want.

Again like I said, safe queens, range toys HD hell even hunting.. but I wouldnt risk going to war with an optic that's going to break from a shoulder high drop when I can spend a few extra dollars for one I know wont break

The holosuns have proven their ruggedness in my eyes. Their biggest problem is they are Chinese made, and you are more likely to have qc issues or get a lemon. They are lifetime warrantied though, so that's a moot point.

Again for anything the average person is going to do with a range gun, hunting, in the house, even carried concealed with little chance of going hands on sure why not. Again I've said that a.njmber of times.

But If there is a chance that idk driving down the street and my vehicle might run over an IED and if I happened to survive that and then get into a gun fight I'm not going to be poor and skimp out on a few extra dollars and I'll get something proven to be BETTER and STRONGER.

Proof positive that you don’t know what you are talking about. Holosuns and Primary Arms have survived even worst impact tests than being dropped from shoulder height without breaking in various torture tests.

Not to mention they are all made of glass.
A drop at the right angle can break any optic if it hits the glass. That's what irons are for.
