That would be a total bait and switch and an FU for the voters.

You would have to lose both the president and the VP before a new VP was appointed for the speaker to take over.

Unless they are both impeached for the same crime or something, that's not going to happen.

he vice president is indirectly elected together with the president to a four-year term of office by the people of the United States through the Electoral College.
