After almost one year to the day from purchase I finally have everything I want on this rifle. Until such time I wish to put a scope on it.

Odd considering I didn't really do much to it. The main motivation for the second batch of stuff was to hopefully keep from cooking my hand on the rail which becomes unbearably hot after just a few mags. The keymod covers are G10 RailScales, the hand stop is aluminum. It feels very secure and ergronomic in the hand now. Tomorrow at the range I'll find if it mitigates the heat at all. Oh the light is also new its an Elzetta Alpha in a Daniel Defense mount. Everything went together easily.

Its hydrodipped. It does not seem to be an especially tough finish, you can see how its worn off the rail edges. For now it gives it a nice well used patina that I kinda like but if it starts coming off in big patches I will have to send it of to @Bullet Guy for cerakoting methinks. Also the BAD lever is a nice, simple addition. Highly recommended. @Dayten, oh please do report me to the NY Nazis. It would make for a good laugh.

Hmnn. Dunno. Not for a while I think, I have some other expense priorites right now. I do have a 14.5" build in mind though. DD light weight barrel with a mid length gas system, 9" centurion quad rail with a matching reciever height railed gasblock, basic magpul furniture. A simple "door kicker's" carbine basically.

Haven't actually shot with it yet. I like the enormous field of view and the crystal clear, tint free prismatic glass. The dot is crisp and it seems tough enough. features are pretty basic though. Uses a cr2032 so battery life is not outstanding. No fancy motion auto shutoff/wake feature, just a 10hr timer shutdown. Off positions between brightness settings works kind of hokey, you need to stick it between the detents. In all I think it is a good optic that focuses on quality over features, which is the opposite of so many gun products these days. I will do a range report on everything tomorrow evening, for the sight, the hiperfire EDT trigger and if the railscales and handstop are worthwile additions. I've messed around with the light already and it works like any light ought to and has a nice wide, balanced throw. Elzettas are just about the best weapon lights on the market IMO.

Just the standard Daniel Defense furniture it came with. the lower part of the grip and the cheek rests of the stock are covered with overmolded rubber, I'm guessing that's what you're seeing as carbon fiber. The Furniture is weird in the sense that while I wouldn't likely buy it for a build I likely won't ever replace it on this rifle.

now that you've described the rubber, I can see it more clearly, I was looking at that riser area and couldn't tell what the finish was. Would imagine it's fairly comfortable on the cheek.

It is and doesn't pull on beard hair as you might imagine. Though I am a nose to charging handle guy so my cheek misses the rubber part, go figure. The best thing about it that it is as solid as a chunk of granite, no rattle at all but it adjusts smoothly and with no seperate tensioner like on a Magpul CTR.

I had to order these, can't find the translucent ones in stores anywhere! Got five of em.

The translucent ones are not nearly as rigid as the opaque ones for some reason. Its possible to impede the movement of the follower rather easily by squeezing it. We'll see how they do at the range.
Another obsevation I had. Seeing as how these are currently loaded with 64gr Gold Dots, each one of these mags is holding 15 freaking dollars of ammo (or 4.3 Cuomos) !! Jesus! Awfully expensive way to put holes in paper, man.

I bet it's because the same exact plastic is used between the 2 variations and the plastic has to be stretched out thinner to give it the transparent look. I would save the Buffalo billions 4.3 cuomos for self defense. Shooting them at paper would be an outrage!

I'm not expending them for just shits and giggles. Its for the obligatory 100 round (120 in this case) reliabilty test. I have every confidence the DD will feed all 120 flawlessly but when it comes to SD ammo and gear leave nothing to chance. Test and evaluate as always. No reaon I can't have fun doing it though.
Also, judging from the feel I think the plastic between the opaque and translucent mags are different types. I'm doing a side by side now, the opaque mag is definitely more rigid. In fact the opaque Lancer mag seems harder and more rigid than any of my other brands of polymer mags.

Brief little range review on the above equipment: Fucking Awesome!!
That red dot is a little clunky to operate but is super crisp and clear, excellent performance on target, very fast and quite precise. The hand stop is comfortable and really locks the rifle into the shoulder for stable offhand shooting and it can be placed up against or hooked over a rest or barricade for very stable supported shooting. The railscales exceeded my expectations, at no point did heat from the barrel prevent me from securely grasping the barrel even if the unprotected areas were hot enough to burn the hand. The Lancer mags ran without a hiccup. The 64gr Gold Dots ran flawlessly and very accurately as well as cleanly. The 69gr IMI SMKs were also very accurate and reliable but were also pretty dirty. The Hiperfire EDT trigger was excellent with a nice, short, crisp single stage break that made accurate, rapid aimed fire easy. I'm gonna do another thread on the range trip itself, you gotta see the 30 round hole I chewed out of the bull ring with the Gold Dots! Very, very happy with this rig.
