Two men convicted in connection with several violent home invasions in Rochester and Greece have each been sentenced to more than 100 years in prison.
37-year-old Matthew Nix and 36-year-old Earl McCoy received sentenced of 155 years and 135 years in prison respectively. Prosecutors say they were the ringleaders of a group of individuals who committed armed home invasions of people they thought were drug dealers. They also committed an armed home invasion at the home of a jewelry wholesaler in Greece.
Nix and McCoy would gather information and addresses on their targets, then bring the other members of their group to robbery locations, give them weapons and later distribute stolen goods. McCoy would also directly take part in the home invasions, entering target homes with others in his group.
Four others connected with the home invasions – Jecovious Barnes, Jessica Moscicki, Clarence Lambert and Gary Lambert – have all been convicted in connection with the home invasions.
