The guys on the front line of the mob are the most dangerous. They are also the easiest to arrest.

The stragglers hiding out back are going to slink off to their holes once the guys in front are gone.

It still doesn’t solve the problem. Many on the front are just there. They aren’t the ones with the Molotov cocktails. They are the shields. So you arrest hundreds of them taking hours at a time. Where will you house them? Who will take each individual one to the rear? For every few you arrest, you need someone to watch them right? And after they are rounded up in a designated square on the pavement surrounded by officers who now cannot be on the front lines, who is going to take them to a jail that can house all of them? What will be the exact charge other than a BS one? What is the evidence?

In the long run it accomplishes absolutely nothing. The best thing to do in this situation is do nothing except protecting the police station and equipment.

Let them burn everything down and let the citizenry on rooftops kill them without repercussions since they aren’t there to see the killings.
