There is a spot right down the front of your pants where a sub compact fits perfectly and 99% of pat downs will miss. Wear a big belt buckle incase of metal detector. If they want you to take off your belt, leave.
Ive made it through 1 pat down and one metal detector this way.

Steel toed boots have gotten me a pass thru a few metal detectors. Apparently if you wear steel toes people assume you are a good guy.
