Yes, it does. It also feels like you’re surrendering if you stay and have to live according to their beliefs. Fortunately, you have other options and don’t have to stay. A move is not a defeat. You are moving to a more desirable situation where you can live by the values you choose. Call it a change of tactics and plans. You’re strong enough to do that.

We all failed in NY. There wasn't enough of us who cares to stop it, even if there was enough of us our dear supreme leaders would have just imported another million illegals and refugees to vote for them to counter act our increased strength at the polls.

It may be time to "go galt" and let the socialists sink themselves and go where we can live our lives the way we want.

As I get closer to retirement I have to start giving my choice of location serious thought. I already am leaning towards moving south due to the winters. The political/regulatory climate of this state is making a move out of NY almost mandatory. Very sad. Upstate NY in the summer is a great environment to be in.

Years ago Pennsylvania was a go-to state from NY. I can see how it's appeal has been lost (severe east coast liberal influx), but West Virginia and Kentucky? As predicted, sooner or later all the states will go blue it's just a matter of time. "You can run but you can't hide".

People are afraid to organize against the mobs and hoards. They're just that, they're mobs and hoards and people are afraid of the illusion they've created. Soros, Cuomo, Clinton would like to think of themselves as leaders, but they're gang leaders and sooner or later the hoards will turn on them. The problem comes from using United Van Lines as the source. They can't tell you WHY people are leaving. They're leaving the red states due to lack of jobs or other opportunities. I'm sure they're still great states to live in for freedoms.

Sad but true. This is my home. I have lived in about a half dozen states and have been to 45/50. We are blessed to live in such a great country. But, alas, my family other than my children are either dead or moved away. If it weren't for them and my businesses (which cannot be moved unfortunately), I would have left a long time ago. I think about where to move to on a daily basis.

My only regret is that when I finally do move out, that there is just no really good way to really (and permanently) signal my disgust with those people who have fucked up my home state. Moving out, and screaming FUAC as I cross the state line, or taking a shit at the toll barrier at Ripley, NY, or flipping off the politicians just doesn't seems nearly satisfying enough.

West Virginia is the epitome of a blue collar democrart state. They are fairly conservative in social issue but very pro union and they seem to like big government. Their industry in the state has been destroyed by the epa and the far left environmental Nazi wing of the Democrat party. They have unknowingly supported their own demise. West Virginia politics are pretty similar to NY state's (minus downstate and NYC) except they really have no other economy from mining, logging, petro chemicals, etc.. They have not been able to diversify their economy and skill base yet to recover from their coal beat down.

Kentucky may be in a similar scenario?

I spent a day last month wandering around Erie, PA when I got my PA CCW permit. Tons of industrial capable buildings of all sizes but many were vacant. Most building were in fair-good condition. PA has lower taxes and the energy infrastructure is in place to support manufacturing yet no businesses. Rail-truck transport is there, they could build a port on Lake Erie, however I couldn't see shipping for material transport. Erie has a thriving bank, insurance and health care economy, some manufacturing still does exist. Yet I see commercials in PA about NY being open for business.

it really doesn't matter what state you move to. Im planning a Tennessee, Kentucky or West Virginia trip. Any place in the DEEP woods. Literally MILES from anyone and everyone.

My plan is to basically declare myself as my own state. I want to be a L O N G way away from everyone. I want to live off the grid with solar/wind and batteries.

Leave me alone and there won't be any problems

I have had six customers leave the state in the last year. Every one of them said taxes and regulation were the reason to leave.

PA was crushed by the collapse of the American steel industry, and is being squeezed further by the collapse of the coal industry which is right around the corner. It was Hillary's hostile stance towards coal that caused PA to vote Trump I'm sure. The rust belt keeps on rusting, what little industry this country has left has fled to states with the lowest taxes and best incentives.

I see it as a stopgap. You can move to texas now, but once a few of their blue cities take over who is to say they don't vote for a dem next presidential, for example. There are still some very hardcore right leaning states that will be that way for another 10 years (at least, I guess...), but in some ways it's trying to outrun a tsunami.

The good thing is you can do that in NY. And there are lots of woods to do it in, and honestly using solar and wind to pay for AC in Tennessee may not be so fun

So I moved to Florida. I think our two votes put Trump over the top there. Actually wife wanted to move to FL. I just wanted to move elsewhere. But FL is ok. Sort of HOT in the summer. So go to the range early. Only problem is I still have some cases left in NY and have to keep going back to handle. Like 3 good PI cases and three gun cases. I don't know if I can last out the gun cases. Would like to turn them over to another lawyer, but can't find anyone who will work for free like me. Once out, If I never see NYC again, it will be too soon. Two weeks to get CCW in FL. No registration, no mag limits, no ammo limits etc. No income tax, much lower property tax, less traffic. (but Higher AC bill). I had forgotten what freedom feels like. I would like to say thanks to many of the members on this forum. You are the ONLY people who have chipped in and helped with the Weinstein, Carroll and Cusumano cases.
