Exactly. That's why I bought the Chiappa 10 shot 1873 pistola. For 179$ one of my funnest plinkers.Always wondered about those. For that price, how can you go wrong?
Hell, I might go do it too. My Chiapa 1873 is similar in low priced .22 plinker and it's awesome and reliable! Yes, one poke at a time to remove brass.

Your mother asked me why her son kept pestering her, while a Ron Jeremy-esque STALLION (her words, not mine) was around.Actually...nobody asked you any questions
Not one poke on the 1873. I have the 6 and the 10 shooter Chiappa and you have to poke it 6 or 10 times. Now my S & W model 60 is on poke and sll 5 come out but not the C. 1873s. But I guess thats where the ole "you get what you pay for" theory comes in to play.
Apples to Oranges type comparison. Single action vs. double action. Isn't the md. 60 a .357?
All I'm talking about is what you have to do to discard the spent casings. The description was completely Apple to Apple..nothing to do with single vs double action mechanics.
Yes the Chiappa cylinder swings out, then you push the ejector rod through, manually turn once, push through, manually turn once, push through 8 more times . My S & W was a 5 shot with a 5 headed ejector rod that you push once and all 5 casings get knocked out in one push.Does the cylinder of the Chiappa swing out? Are the spent shells ejected through a loading port? As the cylinder on the S+W swings out and the ejection rod pushes out all the spent shells. Not the same, except you're removing spent shells from a cylinder.
.22 vs .357/.38+p, yeah apple to apple cause they both go bang!
I knew what you were saying.Still not making myself clear. The Chiappa is a single action pistol. The cylinder does not swing out via a crane. Where as on the Smith it stays in place via the crane. The Chiappa is loaded and unloaded one round at a time, only way to do it correctly! (Through the loading gate/port.)
I knew what you were saying.
As a fellow Corgi person, I know you were smart enough to understand!
Well there ya go, lol.Yeeeea I'm a cat person
Well there ya go, lol.
I know Buds wont ship those to NY. But for a Benjamin, why not? Ive spent $100 worse
Right? Me n my two children went to the dumbest movie on Saturday..could have bought this and couple boxes of ammunition . It is what it is..a fun cheap plinker not to be over thought.I have blown $100 at pizza joints with the family. This seems like a slam dunk no-brainer.

Was a no brainer! Couldn't beat the price, decent reviews, cheap to shoot. Biggest snag with the whole transaction was waiting for Heritage to send the .22 Mag cylinder. Almost six weeks until it arrived, but the price was right. Go me a .22, .22 mag plinker for under $150.
Is that with both cylinders? You may be able to still find the Chiappa 1873 both cylinders for way under that. I got my 6 & 10 1873s from Buds, but that was a few years now..Sadly Brownells wants $199 for the Heritage Rough Rider in 22 mag. Pfft. Since it's a rimfire; so we still have to go through the bullshit to get it added to our CCW? Ugh!
