Ruger American compact

Anybody see one of these yet? The compact model just came out recently and I really like it. Went to cabela's to handle one, and they didn't have any. I think it may be my next carry gun.

Not really a Glock fan myself, but I do like my lc9s a lot. I handled the full sized American at cabela's and liked it, but I don't need another. Looking for something in the middle now. Not too big, not too small.

lots of people are complain about the slide that with the sharp angle
are getting their thumb knuckles hammered.

I see defensive pistols as tools. Tools that might save your life.
Nothing too pretty not too fancy but you press the trigger and
it goes bang, every single time.
This defines the Glock system that it is the AK of the pistols.

Call it boring, call it simplistic, call it fanatic or whatever, but it is what it is.

Not of fan of the thing myself, but "not a Glock" argument doesn't do much for me. I dislike Glocks so I'm glad there are many alternatives.

Ruger should stick to wheel guns, That's what they are known for. Dam fine pieces.

I don't like the grips or the slide. Also the weight is pretty high. 29 oz you might as well buy a 1911. In my option many other better options out there. I'd have to hold it and see the trigger though. I was not overly impress with the sr9c though so I don't see my opinion changing much on this one.

Very similar to my SR40C. I am happy with that gun. But I think the SR series looks better. Fine carry piece. My SR40C has been 100% reliable, and accurate.

I don't mind the looks, something different. The weight-I think I mentioned earlier I have lighter carry guns, and heavier. This would be an in the middle option that should be a nice shooter at the range also.

Anyways, it's off the list for the time being as I just bought another 45.

Nice. I like my Springfield xd. It's a bit smaller and lighter. Everyone has what they like and don't though. You know that and you just need to find what you like and suits your needs. Good luck and what 45 did you get.

Like said but another take - can never have enough tools. As the kids with the Pokemon say, "gotta catch em all."

Doesn't actually look that bad. Kinda like it myself. No wheel gun, but I wouldn't say no to it.
