Ruger LCP II in .22LR

They say if you don't understand a product then you weren't the target audience,I could see my sister shooting one of these she is roughly 4'10" and didnt have the finger strength to rack a Beretta 21a that my father was going to give her.

And then you'd have one happy sister who had pride of ownership, and enjoyed shooting.

When the first micro .380 pistols came out a lot ended up in the hands of rank beginners. Many of them women.

I have been to the range and watched women shoot their micro .380 at a 9" paper plate at 15 feet and miss every shot. Two hand hold, several seconds to acquire the target, and zero hits.

The fault is 100% the pistol. Too much recoil in a tiny package.

Give these ladies a .22 LR and they will actually HIT the target.

I look forward to this new Ruger.

The 21A Bobcat is perfect for those that cannot rack a slide... All she has to do is load the mag, insert a round in the tip up barrel, and she is ready to rock. No racking required . Only problem is, the first round is a heavy DA pull, after which of course, it 'auto cocks", and is a nice quick SA..
there are many ways the bobcat can be carried.. Cocked and locked, which makes it a SA.... Cocked with an empty chamber which would mean having to rack the slide, but with the hammer already back, it is SO much lighter to rack.. I have one, and my wife can't cock it, rack it, OR pull the DA first round trigger. however she is 66 with very severe arthritis in both hands.
If your sis doesn't mind carrying with a live round in the pipe, safety on , its a very easy to use gun thats very accurate for its small size, with a nice trigger.

exactly right... My wife went with an LCP Custom because it was small and light.. However after some range time she realized it was a bear to shoot for an older woman with a small frame and hand strength issues.. Her answer was to buy a somewhat larger, heavier all metal gun in .380, which would tame some of the recoil.. Her Sig P238 is no more or less powerful than her LCP was, they have the same barrel length as well- However, the reduced recoil made her much more accurate.. I shoot a .22 with much more accuracy by far than any other round.. I suck with any handgun, but suck a lot less with a .22... bob

I tried showing her that but her mind was made,she is quit stubborn God bless my BIL.
It really is a great little gun,me and my brother put hundreds of rounds through it as teenagers when we would vacation in Vermont.

I am not a great pistol shot but I am surprisingly, spooky accurate with my mother in law's P238. Great little gun, I think about picking one up for myself now and then.

yeah get one, BEST .380 out there.. I have the P938 myself, but honestly, I like the 238 better... Smooth as silk in everything it does...
