Ruger PC Carbine..mod M&P mags to fit..here's a "how to"

Was on another forum and saw a thread where a guy mods a M&P mag to fit the Ruger magwell.
He used a dremel and could have done a much better/ cleaner job but its a start.

Just those that do not know the perfection that is Glock.

Should not affect warranty as you are modding the mag and not the mag well.

I just dont see why @nortatoga hates ruger so much that he wouldn't want to use their mags

Yes now the mags are $19.99 they were on sale a few weeks back for $13.00 I got 10 of them and my buddy got 5.

I will hold off for awhile to see if a MP mag well does become available!

It is a easy fix though should no mag well become available, and the mags can still work in the MP pistol!

Since these mag collar things are just plastic it seems to me a body could make a little money 3d printing them for all the popular pistol mags.
Why couldn't there have been a STANAG spec for pistol mags too eh? Imagine being able to buy from any number of manufactures of standardised 9mm mags at $15 a pop!

44mag,com has factory original G26 10rd mags for $18.00 with shipping as low as $5.00! (21 in stock) I picked up 10 9mm MP mags a few weeks back from them for $13.00. (now $19.99) As my MP is a 40 that I did the 9mm Storm Lake barrel conversion to!

I just ordered the last two MP 40 10rd mags for $12.00 apiece! (And a pair of Body Guard mags for $9.00) Just to be ready if and when Ruger comes out with a PC40 or the possibility of converting the 9 to 40? If not I just have 5 instead of 3 mags for the MP 40.

Honestly I am hesitant to purchase any more magazines fit the PPQ. I am unsure if I am going to keep it or replace it with something more mainstream. Currently I have 8 of them.

That's the problem with wildcat handguns. Magazines are expensive and they aren't interchangeable with anything. Sometimes, holsters are a problem too.

I used 5 dummy rounds and cycled the action by hand.
Cycled fine using the Ruger mag.

Syracuse gun show this weekend. Maybe I'll go look for an M&P 2.0 .

I would highly recommend the 2.0 Compact, though last I checked (couple of weeks ago) 10-round factory mags are still not available..

I would just as soon get one with a 5" barrel

Yes, you have to be careful, the Compact mags that are out now are for the 1.0 Compact.

I have a lot of mags for the Fullsize (and you can use them with the Compact if you use a 'sleeve' on the mag), so that's why I'm looking to pair the Ruger PC Carbine with my M&Ps.


If your FFL pins mags this is a damn good deal.. You can likely find similar price on Fullsize.

@PbTarget I was looking at S&W site for the M&P 22 FS and all that was showing was a 12rd and 10rd model with threaded barrels! Well I stop at the LGS and he was able to order one for me from his distributor without the threaded barrel. So it would seem that not all that they make is on their site?

I also got 10 M&P 9mm FS factory mags a few weeks ago from 44mag.com for $13.00 ea. they are now $19.99 and just ordered 4 mags for this M&P 22 for $9.95 ea.

Confused, what did you trade? The Ruger PC Carbine or the M&P 2.0?

Traded a rifle for low mileage M&P 1.0 with LaserLyte rear sight .
Going to clean and lube it and try it again.
Trigger pull is more than my other pistols. Was anticipating a better first outing.
My SW22 Victory was great out of the box.
I'm sure the M&P is a fine handgun, just "different" than my others.
