I thought I recall seeing some aftermarket magwell mod that takes M&P mags. Personally I left the Glock magwell installed. I finally have a Glock 19 (won it in a raffle this year), though haven't fired it yet. It's not MOS but didn't want to spend to have it milled yet. I'm more invested in M&Ps at the moment - really drawn to that Carry Comp but no 10-round version yet..
Dude recommends putting a 1000 rounds before you carry it? That is a little much, most people won’t put a 1000 rounds through a pistol in it’s lifetime.
Personally I go for 500 rounds of FMJ, and at least 50 rounds of HP before I "trust" something to carry. But I also stick to the big names - Smith & Wesson (Shield and 2.0 Compact), SIG 365XL. 1,000 is a bit much but it is a newer model.
I have got a couple hundred through this including about 35 JHPs with no hiccups. I would carry this gun.
i never thought 1k was all that much. It’s basically 2 range trips. Only takes an hour to go thru 300 rounds so that’s about 1.5 hours.
For gun enthusiast it is an average day of training. For the average gun owner, it is an extreme amount when you consider most people will never shoot more than 2000 rounds through any gun they own.
Lucas mentioned this too in the video - he tried to say it without saying it.. but Ruger's customer base tends to be on the older side.. some of whom wouldn't necessarily own a Glock. But a Ruger-made Glock...
I find that so weird. Why buy something that you barely ever will use? All my vehicles I average 15-20k miles a year on. I find it amazing that someone can’t find 2 days a year to spend 3-4 hours total at the range. If I buy something I fully intend to use it and get my moneys worth out of it. Otherwise I sell it and get something else I will use.
How many hunters do you know? Most I know will put 6 rounds down range and maybe 1 or two in a deer ever year. I know plenty of people who own a handgun for “protection,” they shot it at the range when they bought it, cleaned it, loaded it up and put it in a drawer 20 years ago.

I have several guns that I've bought and never sent one round through them yet. I have others that came from my dad and grandfather that are used but never by me. Then there are dozens of others that just haven't been shot in a decade or two because I've just bought something new so the old sits in the rear of the safe.
