Honestly its only a matter of time. We desperately need to have unsafe overturned at SCOTUS in addition to CA's handgun roster, microstamping and ammunition regulations. Its not if, its when as far as those things happening here.
Unfortunately you're right. After unsafe I thought people would resist. I was wrong. They are more than happy to comply. And the residents/gun owners will do nothing to stop this new wave of laws. Just like the Original SAFE Act, most will do NOTHING.
Once it passes, all will come out against it and bitch, moan and complain.
As like all gun laws in NY, the NRA and other Pro-gun groups will do next to nothing.
There were some efforts i.e., protests, county oppositions etc...but this state is screwed .....plain and simple. Their agenda for this state is set and well on the way towards it. They will not be able to fix the welfare handouts, high taxes, illegal sanctuary shit, death of the upstate economy. They accomplished their goal of majority votes here. People are leaving....our types....who cast opposing votes. No meaningful change down the road coming our way. Even if we get a win at SCOTUS....lets even say dreaming now,....Constitutional Carry....that wont fix all the other problems that are choking this place.Unfortunately you're right. After unsafe I thought people would resist. I was wrong. They are more than happy to comply.

Here it is.I thought we had someone here who was supposed to post an actual, doable, likely-to-succeed Plan for Victory a few days ago?
I wouldn't bet on that. You're using logic. Logic has never been used when legislating against firearms in New York.Microstamping is going to be a hard sell and easily overturned unless it is on a national level. If it were to go into law in NY and nowhere else, manufacturers are unlikely to alter manufacturing to include the feature. As a result, no guns would be legal to sell in NY. The courts (even as liberal as a lot are) would have no choice but to declare it prevented NYer's from buying guns defacto.
That would be illegal!Have any of the dimwits considered how easy it would be to grind off any microstamp even if a manufacturer was able to make one that would last more than a couple hundred rounds?
I thought Heller protected firearms in common use too. Nothing will change until the Supreme Court makes courts apply strict scrutiny to the Second Amendment.Microstamping is going to be a hard sell and easily overturned unless it is on a national level. I completely understand people wanting to stay out of jail but modifying IS complying. Maybe it is different upstate but on LI everyone is loving their fixed mag AR's. It is as if the unsafe act didn't even happen. You have no idea the number of people that resist verses comply, but the number of guns registered verses the estimated number in this state may be a good indication. Besides, why should anyone stick their neck out? As we have seen already the gun community will not support you and in fact will ridicule and mock you as stupid if caught.
Don't worry, be happy, pass the bread we're on the way to the circus!!!!

It's the same here. At least in the Hudson Valley. I'm not going to say people love it, but they'll fix it to legally shoot it at the range and drive around with it. To do otherwise and "NOT COMPLY" is a asinine. That does nothing for the cause except put one more gun owner behind bars and strip his right to vote.I completely understand people wanting to stay out of jail but modifying IS complying. Yes, but having a drawer full of new firing pins isn't. Or are they going to start requiring an FFL and full inventory tracking for all parts too ?That would be illegal!
They are only a couple years from 0.Microstamping has slowly widdled down Cali's "approved" firearms list and will continue to until it hits zero or a miracle happens. Don't think it can't happen here!
Every time I hear some lib say "Oh, come on, NOBODY is coming to take your guns!"Microstamping has slowly widdled down Cali's "approved" firearms list and will continue to until it hits zero or a miracle happens. Don't think it can't happen here!
I have no skewed view of their intelligence, however. The Left is comprised of drone-like masses, with no knowledge of history, that parrot the demagogic screed of their all-for-us leadership while incoherently pining for privacy while voting for an all-pervasive massive central government to serve as their surrogate parent. The left has a very skewed view of the intelligence of anyone who disagrees with them.
And no doubt a felony with 10 years mandatory jail time for each firearm tampered with. ... For the children you know .That would be illegal!
