Schumer Stuck His Foot In His Mouth And Now He Owns The Shutdown
New York Sen. Charles Schumer must think someone elected him President of the United States.
That dream scenario for him, and nightmare for everyone else, must be playing in his head.
Because now the Senate minority leader is making demands of what President Donald Trump must do if he wants to reopen the government.
And guess what his demand is.
“Everyone knew yesterday, long before the House vote, that the president’s wall lacked 60 votes in the Senate,” he said on the floor of the Senate on Saturday.
“It will never pass the Senate, not today, not next week, not next year,” he insisted.
“So Mr. President, President Trump, if you want to open the government, you must abandon the wall, plain and simple,” he said.
His arrogance is off the charts.
But in his arrogance he made one giant mistake.
He took ownership of the shutdown.
By telling the president that he is the one that will not budge this shutdown is his.
Lock, stock and barrel.

Senator Chuck Schumer could have kept the government open today. He demanded that @realDonaldTrump “abandon” securing our border and protecting America from drug and #humantrafficking. Maybe Chuck & Nancy have forgotten how bad the #opioidepidemic is right now?#SchumerShutdown
