Ummm...shouldn't this have been common sense?
If you're president, you cannot be personally prosecuted for enacting political policy even if it is egregious.
If you're president, and you deal drugs in your spare time, you get prosecuted for your crime that is not related to official duties.

Without even looking at parties I agree. Nobody should be above the law. Nobody. This basically gives us kings on 4 year terms... until an "official action" is to suspend elections. Cool, so actually killing your opponents is now OK. Biden could have the CIA assassinate Trump and that's just fine now.
As to faith in government - Americans shouldn't have faith in government. They shouldn't take for granted that it's going to function properly or with their interests in mind. It's something you have to fight for day in and day out.

The pandemic and the previous election, and what has been going on here in NY has exacerbated it.
It's amazing how patient the American public is too all of this. But there are a lot of stupid people out there too.

People think the government killing America's "won't happen" . Oh really? Go ask the Branch Davidians about that. That type of thing just got *way* easier with this ruling.

Without immunity for official acts, no one would be President. Anyone would be prosecuted after leaving office for a decision. Some people here need to calm down.
