I gotta wonder, how many in the US have diabetes based upon their life choices? How many could be non diabetic if they changed the way they live? I get it, some are born with it and will always have it; but what % is due to choice?

Of course you are correct.
But now we live in the world of do what makes you happy. Being fat is now portrayed as being healthy and sexy not a health hazard. Being non-monogamous and or gay is also portrayed as great and the way we’re supposed to be, but on the flip side monkeypox and STD’s are running rampant. It’s so bad they literally have get tested signs and monkeypox warning signs posted in public places. They legalize weed while drug overdoses are skyrocketing. Bail reform while crime and theft is growing exponentially. There are many more examples but you get the point.

If in fact someone's illness is a result of the choices they've made and continue to make it should solely be their responsibility to finance what their lifestyle has resulted in. I've been busting my ass for a very long time not to be a burden health wise on anyone else.

I do work my mind and my boby as not to be a burden upon my family and society. Many of these health issues would disappear like a fart in the wind if people ate just a little bit better and got off their asses and worked thier bodies. Tired of paying for all others.

Price fixing is bad mmkay.

Price caps don't case low prices, they cause empty shelves.

$35 insulin sounds great until one by one manufacturers decide its not worth their time.

Then you're looking at the infant formula situation, but with people dying.

That's actually not what was happening. The insulin makers would have still been paid fully. Insurers would have been mandated to cover costs for the prescription over $35. What would have happened is everyone's rates would have gone up to cover the insulin cost that was not passed on to the user.

Not saying it's good/bad. But insulin makers would have been 'whole', there wouldn't be an insulin shortage as you note.

Not wearing a seat belt or helmet endangers nobody but the person choosing not to wear it.

But, then they mandate insurance that collectivises risk, and then claim that your choice will raise everyone's rates, so they can order you to wear then against your will.

They will do the same with any sort of "universal" Healthcare.

"Sorry, red meat increases your risk of heart disease, and now that that's a public expense, the taxpayers demand you eat vegetables burgers instead".

People on the left will of course say "that's ridiculous, they would never do that", but if I had a dime for every time I heard that statement and it turned out they *did* go there I could pay off my mortgage.

Choice of diet, with vices, doesn't have to be all or nothing in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Living, consuming and your choices, in moderation, can provide you with satisfaction and health. Just don't overdo those vices.

It’s absurd what my wife and I pay in taxes. It’s even crazier that they said I can pay $30,000 a year towards my sons college while I GROSS $139,000. 35% gets taken out in income taxes between the feds and state, then 3% mandatory for my retirement, then my benefits and union dues are another $8,000/year, finally my school and property taxes are just under $7,000 So really my $139,000 is down to around $70,000/year so $30,000/year for my sons college is nearly 40% of my pay. It’s a joke how little my wife and I actually get to keep of OUR money and what I get for it.
