Shield 45?

I did a bad thing. I picked up a Shield 45 yesterday in the store, and I loked it. Ever since trying out an XDs in 45 I’ve been secretly wanting one. I think I like the feel of the shield better. Im not sure how much longer I can keep the impulse at bay, so, I need input. Anyone have any Shield 45 feedback?

Mine has been excellent. 100% reliable and very accurate. I traded my XDS in .45 for it and never looked back

I can't comment on the Shield, but I have a fair amount of trigger time on the full size M&P 1.0 in .45 and love it. I actually shoot it better and feel less recoil impulse than my P227, which seems a little counter-intuitive (to me at least) as the SIG is (significantly) heavier overall (between metal vs. polymer and double-stack vs single). I haven't shot the XD's but I've handled them- the Smith grips feel much better, IMHO.

not a fan of the XD45, grip doesn't work with my Xl hands.
BUT the 45 SHIELD went on my Short list since the first time i shot it!
I love it and NEED IT!

If you must have a .45 people seem to really like the .45 Shield. But it's a larger gun and down a round compared to the 9mm so I would just rather have that version.

don't own 1 but a good friend has 1 with a ported barrel and slide from the factory I think from the custom shop was a little hesitant to shoot it because it's so small and light but the damn thing is sweet less felt recoil than any of my full sized 1911 45s

I've shot my son's. 45 Shield. Shoots well, conceals well. I have the Shield 9 shoots well conceals well.

I only have experience with the Shield 9 1.0 and now 2.0. Was thinking about the 45 with night sights and maybe even the ported barrel (have heard mixed reviews on that), but I’d want to shoot one first.

With 45ACP you dont have to be as accurate as with 9mm!

I wish they were more popular, cheaper and more available. I also wish there were more launch platforms! Years ago I said if I was going to be limited to 10 they might as well be bigger. That might be flawed logic but with the super/smc it makes more sense to me. The light bullets don’t seem to beat you or the gun up all that much. 185 gr .45 cal at about 1400 FPS is a good option in my option.

Bigger is always better. More chance for nicking sometime that would have otherwise missed a vital. But the ACP's downfall is velocity for barriers. The SMC/ Super corrects that.

It should become the standard but these damned grey beards don't know much about ballistics and embrace myths instead.

Just because. Im fully loaded with 9s and want something bigger. These little 45s are concealabe and not to expensive, etc
