I doubt Cuomo will come out and argue about banning AR15's because the AR15/ AK47 type rifles were ALREADY banned from NYC in 1991 !!!
If anything, it shows banning the rifle does nothing when bad people want to do bad things.

Mayor Dinkin banned these types of rifles in 1991. Doesn't matter if it has a thorson stock, spur grip, 5 rds mag, or no evil features. it doesn't matter! AR15's were banned in NYC.

I'm slightly confused, as I don't understand the intricacies of NYC Admin Code.

Other than being within the confines of New York City, how exactly was this hospital a "gun-free zone?" There is no state or federal prohibition to carrying in a hospital. Is there a prohibition in NYC Admin Code? If one had the ability to legally carry a firearm within the five boroughs of NYC, wouldn't one be legally able to carry within the hospital? How exactly is this a gun-free zone?

The hospital is a teaching institution (with residency programs). Therefore, it is a "school."
